Bayern want to give Alessandro Schöpf a pro contract, according to this, citing his agent in the Tiroler Tageszeitung. [source]

I love it when Bayern youngsters are given a chance but he is an AM and i really dont see where he would fit in the first team unless he is already a world class player, but he has been playing very well for the reserves.....

They do mention 2014 in the article so maybe he's planned for next season. Also, the professional contract facilitates the possibility for him to be loaned out to another Bundesliga or 2. Bundesliga club where he can gain some very valuable experience.

And probably attract a larger fee if we decide to sell him...

According to the data on Transfermarkt, it would seem that Shoepf not only travelled to Doha with the first team squad, but was also promoted to the first team squad with a professional contract from 01.01.2014.

I wonder what the board plans on doing with Schopf? He was given a professional contract and seems like a promising prospect too.

I think much regarding his future (sold, loaned out or kept) depends on whether or not FC Bayern II can manage promotion this season.

He's too good for the Regionalliga Bayern, but the Bundesliga is probably too early for him. If FC Bayern II can at least manage promotion, he'll be playing in a tougher division next season and would be likely kept. He still has two more seasons on his contract.

Yea that is the conclusion i have come to in the past and i feel like that same conclusion fits the bill for the majority of FCB II's players as well. Playing in 3.Liga may convince Schopf and others to stay at Bayern another couple seasons if it helps their development.
