Well, one good pass received vs Cech = 1 goal. Anyone took count of how many presentable chances Bayern players lost vs Cech over 240 minutes?

38 goals while playing for Malta is really no mean feat.

You guys expect Uruguay to trash Argentina 7-0 next week? There is no chance they qualify directly otherwise.

A boy can dream, can't she?
It's roughly equal to the odds of us qualify against Uruguay anyway. :(

I have huge respect for this goalkeeper. He is just like Neuer for Bayern, a GK who is so good that even if you beat the entire defence, it is still a challenge to get past him and score a goal. However something seems to be wrong with him when playing for the NT. This is the second game in a row in which he's made a blunder now. :(

Haber would have been a really really good goalkeeper, if only he was some 10-15cm taller. Unfortunately, at 1.80m, he's ridiculously short for a goalkeeper. In both of his last matches for the NT, the 'blunders' wouldn't have happened if he only had been taller. This is something I heard him admitting himself as well.

Jordan's NT is currently roughly around the same level as Bolivia's, plus or minus 10 ranking points. Bolivia trashed Uruguay 4-1 last home qualifying match. As I see it, all you need is guts and a good day...

Spoiler: show
A stadium that sits 3,600 meters above see level wouldn't hurt either

Thanks! I was thinking about going. Problem is the timing and the fact that JJ here would probably resent me for four years if I don't bring him along. That would make the trip beyond 'prohibitively expensive,' close to impossible really.

There might be hope that Chile might get the play-offs if Ecuador beats them and Uruguay wins over Argentina. Who knows, anything can happen.

The resentment will be for four years? It would really be expensive and one would have to prepare everything as early as possible or be a victim of scalpers.

Any of our fellow members planning on going to the WC?

Jordan is a team that Malta played twice, winning both matches :D
Last time was 2002 with a 20-year old Mifsud scoring.

I may be slightly bitter

Also, hey, don't judge us on 2002! IT WAS 2002! We're now kind of in our prime 2004-?

Epic fail by the keeper. But in fairness to Greece they had a lot of chances.
