Here's a hurtful truth to Mutu: Without Mario Gomez, Germany won the world cup this generation. :P

Waiting for Mutu to counter...

We just have to live with it. Messi will get all the praise whatever he does. He has become larger than himself and he looks like it's getting to him. (saw he vomited again)

The excuse used for Messi today is he has the most created chances. But Argentina has the lowest goal tally. Hahahaha if this was the other way around, Messi with the highest goals and assist but his team still didn't win and Müller with the most created chances but wins the WC, Messi will still win.

Let him bask on his individual awards.

He didn't really much care about the award, to be honest. This is all Blatter trying to give him a head-start for next year's Ballon d'Or.

As the match was heading to penalties I thought how sad it would be that the cup would be won on penalties. And then it struck me, the idea for replacement of penalties!

At the end of 120 minutes, rather than going to a penalty shootout, both coaches have to choose a player to take out (i.e. they'd play 10v10 unless there'd have been a red card). Every 5 minutes thereafter, another player is taken out from each team. At some point someone's going to score, and once it happens it's game over.

No comment from Mutu yet? No statistical analysis of how Gomez was the root cause of this win?

Oh I think he's waiting for the Euros 2016. They'all had their redemptions; Gomez's coming with a vengeance. So does MUTU's.

Anyhow I'm just glad I enjoyed Brazil 2014! Like I said before, since Maradona '86 I have not had quite a WC like this one before; Ecuador in 2006 and Germany in 2010 almost did it for me. But so far, this one was top, top, notch! Too bad "all good things must come to an end."

Germany wins, Gomez top scorer, Klose surpass Ronaldo and Schweini MVP of the tournament :P

And Neuer unbeaten in goal

Some predictions from 2.5 years ago were right on spot (first page of the thread).

Everyone who appeared in the starting XI had a huge moment (or an entire game for most) except I think Mertesacker, Mustafi, Ozil and Podolski

Muller with the game winner vs USA
Kroos MOTM vs Brazil
Schweini in the final
Boateng in the final
Khedira brilliant vs Brazil
Schurrle with the assist to Gotze in the final
Gotze with the championship winning goal
Hummels with the game winner vs France
Lahm being Lahm every game
Howedes and Klose combining vs Ghana
Neuer, well, obviously

Teamwork! 8)

Neuer had more passes in this WC than Messi :P

Also Germany surpassed Brasil as the most profiling team.

Ozil's goal against Algeria was a game winner as well...

I forgot about that one. Granted Algeria probably wouldn't have scored if Ozil didn't score in the first place to force the restart, but fair enough

That would actually be pretty fun, nay brilliant to watch.
