Costa looks like a great signing and Robben looked as good as ever. I hope that the whole Muller taken off incident doesn't further strain his relationship with Pep!

I still think we played quite well all things considered.

"All things considered" - like what all things?
How did we play well? Apart from the goal which was practically a gift from Casteels we barely even came close to scoring at all, with Wolfsburg missing an open goal and a 1 vs 1 with Neuer.

I think at the start of the season, as much as i'm not Peps biggest fan, its better to take the positive out of these sorts of games as its only the curtain raiser of the season. Lots of our players actually had pretty good games, and the only mistakes that were truly made were tactical ones near the end.

Costa looks like a great pick up, and I think Robben is looking good which is really important for us. I still think Muller, Lewandowski is a great paring, No one came off injured which coming from last year is a great thing :P Another bonus is Dante didn't give away any goals 8)

I don't think losing the SuperCup on penalties is really that bad, and I don't think its a sign of our impending doom.

Don't get me wrong, I really don't care about losing (even though the manner in which we lost is a little annoying to say the least).
I'm just really disappointed to see that it's been two years since Pep got here and everything is still all the same. I'm just having this feeling that as good as some of Pep's ideas are, in actuality he has absolutely no clue how to address the biggest flaws in our game. Just ideas are not enough, not even when you have a team of brilliant players.

On the other hand, the new signings really looked great, so in the players' department we look all set for the new season.

Sorry for reposting this, but I'm on my cell, so a copy-paste is better than writing a new thing

My humble conclusions
Alonso should not start. Period. He made countless mistakes. Why the **** does Pep keep starting him, is beyond me. But by the way, his penalty was OK. The keeper did a good job.
Thiago was invisible
You don't sub off Müller. Never.
There's nothing wrong with subbing off players that are underperforming, Pep
Lahm at RB & Alaba at LB, at the same time, is a joy to watch
A 4-2-4 worked with a Javi and a Basti. It cannot work with a mistake-prone, slow Xabi and the great-on-the-ball but not all-conquering-bossing-tje-midfield Thiago. Vidal instead of Xabi may be ok, or Rode, or bringing Lahm/Alaba inside
We've been conceded from corners since forever - even before LvG. I don't blame Pep on that, but maybe he should work on it. Today's corners were risky
KdB HAS to stay in BuLi
Weird subs. Why not Alonso? Why not Robben (after the goals) who was risking an injury? Whyyyy Müller?
Costa is a really good addition. I thought the board was crazy, but I was proven wrong

bayern should play with Vidal/Højbjerg in midfield along with Muller, thiago etc.I think Højbjerg will be a very strong player in coming years. He is just 20 and has very strong physique. Alonso should be played as substitute only when we are leading by 2 or more goals.

I think that everybody has prizes for Costa but probably nobody realizes that he still plays like in Shahtar and not for Guardiola. This will change shortly or he will be bench warmer. He is like whiff of a wind in all that stale atmosphere.

P.S. Lewy's face after getting subbed off was not a good thing to watch. I think he'll stay for this season, but something's not working

If he decides to leave it would be now and not in 1 year when Guardiola is gone. It seems more logical to me but who knows.

Yeah, because Pep forced Robben and Ribery to stop dribbling and be slow passers...

Ribbery? He was injured more time than he played under Guardiola, so lets forget him, Robben? I don't remember when last time Robben played like Costa, if you're talking about dribbling, no, he did not stopped him from doing that and was encouraging others like Goetze to do it instead of fast forward combination play.

I think the only thing we got out of this game is that nobody was injured. This season is going to be very interesting for Pep and if barring any injuries Bayern only makes it to the semi-final of either the Pokal or the Champions League then I think we all know what is going to happen regardless of whether he extends or not. First straw was starting Alonso, then second straw was subbing off Muller and Lewandowski past the 80th minute when you know you're only up by a goal. The trophy might not count for much but the game was very competitively played and gave a good indication of how Pep's tactics will fare in the upcoming season. This is Wolfsburg, not Barcelona or Real Madrid. Pep, for love of God stop being so avant-garde with your tactics and just use common sense, it works, ask Jupp.

I still maintain that the Bundesliga Championship isn't something that is guaranteed.

I am referring to the overall quality of the squad and not the difficulty of winning the league. When people say that the Bundesliga is one-team league they are wrong in terms of the top teams but Bundesliga teams from the middle to the bottom give Bayern way too much respect on the pitch.
