Unsurprisingly Schalke's youths are the only Germans to win. Of course they also had the worst opposition, but their U19s were the ones who beat us in some playoff/final if I remember correctly last season.

This competition is almost next to useless.

Scotland won the 1982 U19 European Championship and none of the players did anything of note.

All it does is put unnecessary pressure on young and immature players.
To all those, Over the years,
who have come to
Munich as strangers
and left as good friends.

I think the aim of the competition is to give the youngsters a taste for the big stage and an opportunity to play against other teams from different leagues.

I think this is some very good experience for Europe's youngsters, not every player will be good enough to play for their youth NTs but if they are able to travel to different countries for their youth club teams will definitely help the young players that may be on the fringe but just needed that added experience....

Says who? Are you basing it on the quality of the senior team?
