Ireland to be a level or two above even without ever qualifying they've had excellent results against the likes of England and Spain and don't lose often in Belfast, plus they've always produced a lot of players for English and Scottish leagues. I prefer watching them than England as they really have pride

Also, my all time favourite footballer was a N.I international. A guy called Stuart Elliott who played for Hull during the mid 00s and played in our back to back promotions from the fourth division then the Third into the second. In the 2004/5 season (promotion from League 1 to the Championship) he scored 30+ goals predominantly playing on the wing. He was a really nice guy too and since then I've always had a soft spot for N.I. He is now a priest at a church in Hull

a priest

Yes! He was always a deeply religious man and always mentioned it in every local radio and newspaper interview (we didn't get much TV coverage in those days at that level)

Very strange derision. I think we have a nr of Cro working here and they cannot watch their tm because of others who acted irresponsible in the past.

Croatia fans try to get tickets for tomorrow's game [source]

I sympathize with the Croatian fans... it is very discriminatory decision.

Congrats:smile:
Happy that Russia made it too ... Hopefully the Magyars wont be needing the play offs but it is not easy as if Turkey wins they will be the best 3rd placed team and therefore they wil avoid the play offs.
Anybody saw some of Ukr v Esp?
De Gea made 11 saves... Overall ukr had 27 attempts!
Spain won 0-1

normally id agree but i actually think we stand a decent chance we have a lot of pacey players if we decide to be a counter attacking team

If Greece made it, England can too... how many games to the final? 5? And you don't need to win in all.

be 6 to the final 3 group games and it starts at a round of 16. Hope hodgson takes risks on current form rooney doesnt deserve to play sturridge is miles better than kane full stop. Also loved it when greece won especially after portugal robbed us in the qfs.

Yes I was joking... England have a good tm and TBH at the moment they can defeat Germany without any doubts. If the media doesn't invent something controversial (as usual) before the finals England will have a chance...

the media are just dreadful if we win the first game they will act like it should be won if we lose the first game were an embarassment need to be realistic and quarters after the world cup would be a step in the right direction anything else is a bonus except a loss on penalties

Nah, don't be alarmist. Germany will perform well as usual. It's a temporary thing for sure. The real contenders are Germany, France and Spain (if Mr. Moustache decides to play sensible squads) and the dark horse is Belgium.
