With your same logic how many non Germans are going to be wearing the german kit tonight?
Place of birth does not change the blood.

So do you sincerely believe that someone who never set foot on a country, sometimes not even on holiday, has a right to represent it, simply based on some ancestor having spent part (or all) of his/her life there?

Take Malta as an example. What makes Alfred Effiong Maltese?
Both his parents are Nigerian and he was born in Nigeria ...

Exactly my point. If he is born and raised in Nigeria, he should play for Nigeria. Turks have players born and raised in Germany who should have played for Germany.

Solid performance and I'm very pleased with the result. Turkey have had their chance but luckily Subašić was in the right place to save it.

Modrić has managed to shoot from the distance and even better - he scored!    Well done!

Perfect coordination and timing.

Way better in my opinion. Payet's goal is far more commonly scored. Modric style goals are a rarity.

If it was war time for example... what would make more sense? To fight for the country that you were born or for the country of your ancestors?

I would fight for my country, where I live and where all my childhood memories are, not for where the childhood memory of some single grandfather was.

There are a limited types of blood. A positive, O etc. I think I would be fighting against them all. No I wouldn't fight my relatives that's why I would fight for my country. In the case of the Germans playing in Turkey all their relatives are in Germany. Do you think they should shoot their brothers and fathers?

Someone can be born by "accident" in another country... I know women who go to the US just to give birth and come back after that... they become US citizens... not the best logic, they do that just so they could to rip off some benefits.

Nice shot by Brozo ... And that bar hit by Srna.
I am getting worried with all these misses.
By the way ... Jesus Modric is class '85!!!!!! Already 31

In football it's the other way round. Players betray the country where they were born and raised in and play for the country of some grandfather, because they have a much bigger chance of playing there. Take Neustaedter for example, did his "blood" suddenly change? He was playing for Germany and the only reason he played for Russia in EURO 2016 is that he saw little chances in the German NT. The same can be said for 99 percent of German-Turks. The really good one, Oezil, went with his heart and chose not to betray his land and friends.

Wouldn't have played as much for Germany, but they were good.
ramsej84 wrote:Altintop bros where born in Germany.

Wouldn't have played much for Germany, so they conveniently opted for Turkey.
ramsej84 wrote:Boateng bros where born in Germany....

Both were playing for Germany, but one conveniently made some blood transfusion or something and became Ghanian and promply injured Ballack.
