My friends keep asking me what I think of Germany's chances for prediction games (I'm the only Germany fan many people my age know, at least among serious football fans). I'm refusing to give an opinion until after the Ukraine game. I don't even know what the lineup will look like at this point. I think Germany can flop or go all the way.

I dont think Germany stand a chance. I think they will qualify with great difficulties and will go back home after the first knock out stage

Kante and Payet were the best for France... Evra the worst, Pogba mediocre. Coman showed his speed in one moment...
Giroud? He shouldn't be playing football but rugby or something else... pain to eye to see him play. They should've called up Benzema despite everything. The Romanian keeper was at fault for his decision to not punch the ball on Giroud's goal even if he was fouled.

It all depends on which Germany shows up. The talent is there... probably the best team in the tournament.

It is my gut feeling...
Too many players missing...
Hummels not fit
Bastian not fit
Khedira not fit
Not to mention the pre tournament injuries...
Lack of experience big time...
Who is going to win it for them Sane? Tah? Draxler? weigl? Kimmich?

I highly doubt that. Germany don't have a striker, they don't have a proper deep-lying playmaker (it will be Kroos + out of form Schweinsteiger probably), they don't have fullbacks who have attacking potential. Too many weaknesses to consider them the best team. Also their attacking line-up doesn't look all that amazing -> Draxler, Ozil, Muller, Gotze? It's very solid but not spectacular. I think France and Spain have at least the same quality squads + maybe Belgium.

Overall, I'm happy with my country's performance. We showed real discipline at the back and pushed the french possession to their half many, many times. To me, at least, they seemed to play like Manchester United. Our chances were more dangerous than theirs. I'm still surprised at how well our defense managed to control their attack. Except for Payet. Man, that guy was splendid tonight. And for his goal... Yeah, it's beyond words.
I'm glad that we held our heads high after this game and showed the french that they're not superior just because of their names.

Spain might be better, but they're far from a perfect team too. France have lost many players to injuries and were very underwhelming tonight. If Gomez isn't a proper striker, what's Giroud? :P

Germany's big weakness is the fullbacks, although the CM leaves a bit to be desired without Gundogan. Germany should play without fullbacks. The squad suggests that's a better formation right now.

I predict a lot of players representing Switzerland tomorrow will be very sad and regret for turning their face to their true country.
