Meh. What I want to know is if Gomez came in second.

Was a sad game, especially when Italy was down to 10 men. Then the game died completely.
I thought they had a chance of getting at least a goal before then...

Fernando Torres winning golden boot is hilarious to me, scores twice against the absolute worst team in the tournament, then once (one assist too) against a 10 man team that had lost all hope and spirit in the dying minutes and hes barely played (cause the Spanish play better without him).. #-o

Del Bosque has won 2 Cls + 1 World Cup + 1 Euro  =D>

That is a record for coach very difficult to be leveled one day

Well that's it for this season :( We had high expectations early on and major heartbreaks at the end. Here's hoping that next season none of that will happen [-o< I don't think there is a football fan who suffered the way we did this year...

They're sorted first by number of goals scored, then by number of assists and finally by least minutes played. Torres' goal and assist in the match meant that he overtook Gomez by virtue of having played fewer minutes.

I think the Spanish monarch recently gave him an award as the man who has had most success in sports in Spain.

Anyway, while I had hoped that Italy would win before the game, seeing all those Maltese people who support Italy celebrating before the game as if the cup was already theirs made me want Spain to win. I knew after around 10 minutes that Spain would win and told my friends after the first goal that unless Italy equalize quickly they are going to get trashed with the way they're playing.

This result sincerely makes me believe that Germany is the only country who can stop Spain, although in two years Brazil might have a chance, being at home and all. I think Brazil are a bit overrated but they're still probably the 3rd best after Germany and Spain, and they too have a lot of youth talent coming up, just not the same amount as Spain and Germany, and that is what sets them apart from the rest.

Anyway, just as a side note, you guys do realize who is the only coach who managed to outsmart Spain in the last 3 international tournaments, right (not counting qualifiers)?
