Looking forward to watching some hilarious goalkeeping highlights or players grabbing the ball with their hands in the penalty area before the ball goes out. :P At least the flow of game is better, less fouls and there will probably be some spectacular goals as well.

I'm watching the women's WC 2011 and the men's (boys really) U-17 championship in Mexico. What I like about the women is how good their fundamental skills are and how they (the German's) play as a unit, very Barcelona-esc.

As for the boys, some of it is comical (as in the mistakes made) but holy sh*t, if you haven't seen it, you've got to check out this goal from Okan Aydin!!

the 17 year old Aydin has a more powerful shot than her though.

With her shot the ball is already falling down becuase its just not that hard. You'll see thats the case with most distance goals in women football. Female goalkeepers just really suck.

This one is more impressive than the one where a player catches the ball with her hands inside the penalty box before the ball goes out of play. Just watch and enjoy.

Even though the German women haven't played their best they beat a very good France squad 4-2 in the quarterfinals and look to be in a very good position to make the finals.

Yes it was the group stage. They play against Japan in the quarter-final.

Caught the penalty shootout - England lost :D - and please don't tell me those two are among the best female goalies in the world, because that was just awful. The penalty taking is pretty much on the same level as men's football, but the goalies are just too small AND too clumsy. They have to start moving way before the shot is taken, and even then they can't really reach the ball. Didn't see the one French miss (punlicious), but apart from that, no saves were made.
The ideal team
