It's a tactical masterclass by Tuchel imo, but their plan failed as they couldn't go up in the first 30 minutes. I doubt they'll be able to press like this during the entire game.

Hummels is a no-show so far, and I mean not much better than not showing up at all.
The rest is hard to judge as we can barely bring the ball out.

Btw, I guess we already found some similarity between Dembele and Ribery :P

Well, bad news first - we're crap all over and I don't really see what our plans going forward or backward is. A bit of it is funnily enough Pep's fault - it was he, after all, who devised the plan to expose Hummels so mercilessly via long balls that Tuchel is copying beat-by-beat. :P The Hummels-Lahm channel is leaking like a sieve, being responsible for 3-4 clear chances conceded, and only Neuer has kept us in the game. Going forward we have Lewandowski and Müller utterly anonymous.

As for the positives, I am liking the newfound creative freedom that so far only Thiago has been really able to tap into. Guardiola probably overcoached some automations in the players' repertoire that are now being thrown to the wayside. It's especially weird with Thiago, who seems to be having so much fun with his supposed mentor hundreds of kilometres away from München. The lack of tactical discipline has brought positives and negatives in that regard.

Still, one would like us to get our shit together in the second half. Right now we've been thoroughly outplayed and are lucky to be in the game.
The ideal team

Good performance in the first half, it's fun watching the team play knowing that this is far from our best line-up, we still have players like Gotze, Schurrle, Weigl, Piszczek and Guerreiro on the bench. Excited about the season. As for this game, we had much more chances (Bayern had the best chance though with that Vidal miss), hopefully we won't run out of gas in the second half, score and win.

Problem is Ancelotti sent a high pressing line while the back four is trying to cope deep with a non-existing midfield. Bayern is leaving huge gaps and Vidal and co are working overtime tracking back to stop Kagawa from walking to the box. Their counter pressing is leaving Pep's in the dust while Hummels is having a hard time figuring out where to stand. If Ancelotti is not going to use the offside as an ally, Bayern is going to have a hard time this season. There was only a single offside call in the first half btw.

Fortunately it doesn't look to serious for Vidal but I'm sure that left a nasty mark on him....
