'You have to get through it'

Postby FCBayernNews » Mon Feb 26, 2018 7:20 pm

After the usual post-match training on Sunday, Jupp Heynckes has given his players the next two days off. The FCB coach was happy with the performance of his side and has given them the chance to clear their heads. With no midweek fixture, they'll resume training on Wednesday, although some of the Bayern players prefer it the other way.

"Games are better than training. We're not playing again now until Sunday," said Arjen Robben. Seven days lie between the game against Hertha and this Sunday's visit to Freiburg, and everyone footballer knows that nothing beats playing. "That's a long time. You have to get through it," added the Dutchman, who can't wait for the next kick-off.

Heynckes and his staff will use this week to prepare the team for their upcoming assignments as well as they can as the season gradually reaches the business end. The fixture list is a little lighter in March but there is still plenty of action with away games at Besiktas and Leipzig as well as home matches against Hamburg and Dortmund. It's the perfect way to wam up before a busy April in which Bayern will be competing for trophies in the Champions League (if they get through against Besiktas) and the DFB Cup, as well as looking to secure the Bundesliga title.
