Rudy: We aren't at the limit yet

Postby FCBayernNews » Thu Nov 30, 2017 4:10 pm

Ice hockey? Tennis? Football! All good things come in threes, for Sebastian Rudy too. "I gave ice hockey a try when I was a little boy. But I didn't play for long. I then played tennis for about ten years. Fortunately I preferred football in the end," the midfielder told FC Bayern.tv live. Rudy talked about a long journey before his career as a pro and of course about joining FC Bayern last summer.

"I was thrilled when I got the offer from FC Bayern," revealed the 27-year-old, whose contract with 1899 Hoffenheim had expired. "I felt at ease from the start, I didn't need long to settle in. The team welcomed me very well, which made the move easier of course."

'I want to improve'

Rudy enjoys every session at his new club. "You train with world-class players at FC Bayern. That was one of the reasons I came here: I want to improve. The pace is high, the quality is very high in training. It's easier to improve in those circumstances." Rudy explained: "Always be ready to receive the ball, pass the ball, win tackles. That's very important in this position."

Rudy has more ambitious goals since joining FC Bayern of course. He aims to add much more silverware to his biggest title so far, the 2017 Confederations Cup. "We can achieve a lot with the team. We've demonstrated our quality over the last few weeks. But we're capable of more. We aren't at the limit yet." Rudy's goal? "Collect trophies!"
