Michael Reschke leaves FC Bayern

Postby FCBayernNews » Sat Aug 05, 2017 1:30 pm

Michael Reschke (59), who has been technical director at FC Bayern München since July 2014, is leaving the German record champions to become sporting director at VfB Stuttgart.

In mid-July, before the team’s tour of Asia, Reschke informed both president Uli Hoeneß and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that he had offers from other clubs. Yesterday (Friday) Michael Reschke asked FC Bayern München to terminate his contract that was due to run until 30 June 2018, and the club granted this request.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: “We didn’t want to deny Michael Reschke the chance to become sporting director at VfB Stuttgart. On behalf of FC Bayern München, I’d like to thank him for the tremendous work he’s done for FC Bayern over the last three years. He’s made an important contribution to our success with his expertise, professionalism and network. I wish him all the best for the future.”

Michael Reschke: “My open and trustful collaboration with Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has made a big impact on me. It has given me new and valuable experiences again. I appreciate it very much and would like to thank them both. I’ve always felt happy within the whole club and in my direct working environment. It’s been fantastic to work with Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola, the players and my colleagues. I’d also like to thank them.”

On his reasons for leaving FC Bayern, Michael Reschke said: “It’s a shame I won’t have the opportunity to work together with the new sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. I have a very good, friendly relationship with him and respect him highly. But in life there are opportunities you just have to seize and challenges you have to take on. The opportunity to be sporting director at VfB Stuttgart is one such opportunity for me.”

Leaving Bayern for Stuttgart is an opportunity? Sounds a lot like rat carcass instead of filet mignon...

Still kinda seems like Hoeness and Rummenigge didn't want somebody as sporting director who has a will of his own...
Thanks for nothing, :pep: !!
