FCB look forward to the big game in Dortmund

Postby FCBayernNews » Thu Nov 17, 2016 3:55 pm

There are two days to go before the Bundesliga Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund and excitement is already at fever pitch in the FC Bayern camp! "It's one of the highlights of the season," said Jérôme Boateng on Thursday. "Playing in Dortmund is always interesting. These are exactly the kind of games we need to see where we're up to," Boateng added.

After missing Germany's final two internationals of the year against San Marino and Italy, Boateng was back in training this week and has declared himself fit for the clash with BVB. "I'm feeling a lot better. I've been able to train this week without any problems." Boateng highlighted that after two long injury spells this year, the break had "done him good".

Thomas Müller is also looking forward to the league leaders' battle with the fifth-placed Westphalians. "It's not just a game that fans look forward to but also the players. Dortmund away is the best game there is in the Bundesliga, because it's the hardest place to win," commented the attacker, who returned to the Säbener Straße training ground on Thursday along with the other international players.

Manuel Neuer was also back in normal training after overcoming an infection, but Arturo Vidal, Douglas Costa and Julian Green were absent as they are on their way back to Munich from international games in South and Central America. Arjen Robben and Javi Martínez completed individual training sessions in the performance centre.

Despite the current standings with promoted side RB Leipzig in second place and Hoffenheim and Hertha Berlin behind them, Boateng still sees Dortmund as Bayern's "hardest rivals" in the title race this season. "Dortmund have always been tough opponents,“ said Germany's Footballer of the Year: "We want to go there and get something."
