Bayern looking to set new club record

Postby FCBayernNews » Sat Sep 30, 2017 12:05 pm

When FC Bayern take on Hertha Berlin this Sunday, they could set a new club record. If they win in the capital, the record champions will have won six Sunday games in a row for the first time in their Bundesliga history. Their last defeat on a Sunday was in March 2015 against Borussia Mönchengladbach. fcbayern.com has dug out a few other interesting facts and stats ahead of the match at the Olympiastadion.

38 wins, 150 goals

Sunday will be the 65th time FC Bayern and Hertha have met in the Bundesliga and the record is clearly in the Reds’ favour: 38 wins, nine defeats and 17 draws, with a goal difference of 150-69. Bayern also come out on top when looking at the meetings in Berlin, with 12 wins, seven defeats and 13 draws from 32 matches in the capital.

Strong form against Hertha

The recent record between the two sides is also positive for Bayern, who have won 11 of their last 12 encounters with Hertha. The other was the most recent meeting in February 2017 which ended in a 1-1 draw. Looking further back, FCB have only lost one of their last 27 Bundesliga games against the ‘Old Lady’, winning 20. That defeat was back in February 2009.

Home comfort

Hertha have collected a respectable 26 points from their last 13 home games and have scored at least one goal each time. In contrast, the Berliners have managed just four points from the same number of games on the road, failing to score in eight of them.

Extend Oktoberfest record

Can FC Bayern continue their strong record during Oktoberfest for another year? Since losing 2-0 in Dortmund in October 2010, the record champions have not lost any of their 25 Bundesliga games during the Wiesn (20 wins, five draws). So far this season they’ve recorded two victories and a draw.
