I would also back your argument that it might be too liberal at times... But maybe, if conservatives would focus on their studies rather than agitating, they might be able to bring forth an occasional journalist as well

They're not... But they're also not idiots and in order to become a journalist you at least gotta be able to write coherently, with few mistakes, you have to be well-informed and stick to facts - see where this is going?
