The Maltese aren't very generous tippers (I think). A friend of mine worked as a waiter abroad and earned way more money than in Malta.

Not sure but I think it's not the only German university. I know Manfred Krug from the University of Bamberg has worked a lot on Maltese English. Not sure whether he's written anything on Maltese itself, but I know he refers to traits of Maltese in at least one work. I don't know whether there's a dedicated centre in Bamberg though. Googling his name and Maltese immediately brings up a workshop at Bremen University.

I also know of Sabrina Francesconi from Trento in Italy but I think she's solely focused on Maltese English.

Ignore the EU and start talking to the UK, says KMB

Former Prime Minister Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici this morning called on the Maltese government to disregard the European Commission’s advice and start informal talks with the UK regarding Malta’s future relationship with the EU.
“This would ensure that Malta’s existing benefits in areas like trade and health would be maintained,” he said. The UK voted to leave the EU in a referendum last week.
Dr Mifsud Bonnici, who leads the eurosceptic Campaign for National Independence, made the appeal in a news conference. [source]

Austria's highest court has annulled the result of the presidential election narrowly lost by the far-right candidate of the Freedom Party.
The party had challenged the result, saying that postal votes had been improperly handled.
The Freedom Party candidate, Norbert Hofer, lost the election to the former leader of the Greens, Alexander Van der Bellen, by less than a percentage point.
The election will now be re-run. [source]

BREAKING NEWS
Austria's presidential election must be held again, court rules [source]

Austria's presidential run-off election must be held again, the country's Constitutional Court ruled today, handing the Freedom Party's narrowly defeated candidate another chance to become the first far-right head of state in the European Union.
Norbert Hofer of the anti-immigration Freedom Party (FPO) lost the May 22 vote to former Greens leader Alexander Van der Bellen by less than one percentage point, with postal ballots having tipped the balance in Van der Bellen's favour.
The court said it was using its strict standard on the application of election rules. Witnesses have told it of irregularities in the way the count was carried out, including the processing of postal ballots sooner than they should have been.

May God forbid that the far-rights win the election. Nothing far right or far left, or any kind of extremity, is ever a good solution. People of Austria should do the right thing.

In general, it's the people in power who label rival parties as extremists to scare voters and remain in power.

It's funny how some leftists in power no longer prefer to call some opposition leaders as "populist"... but they're trying to give them another name because being POPULIST isn't that bad.

So? Like it or not, so-called "patriots", at least German speaking are far too nationalist and downright racist, xenophobic and most of all as bright as a polar night...
We're talking about a technicality here... So can anyone of the supporters please tell me how it's "the people's will" in the UK, but when it's a technicality it's all ok as long as the right side (pun intended!) wins?! ;)
Also, him wanting the best does not mean him being able to do squat, let alone the right things...
And the biggest problem is their poisoning of atmosphere and society... Much lesss than SOME of their claims... And don't tell me that's the "leftists"...
Perry claims that there's no climate change for **** sake... As a scientist and with a doctoral degree

Of course this outcome is gonna help "them" - will you then switch back and tell us that it was the people's vote yet again? ;)
Thanks for nothing, :pep: !!

A terrorist was arrested in the village where I attended elementary school about 5 km from my house... they found a suitcase with explosives. And I think that I knew the guy... There have been some Arab investments in that village in the last 15 years...
