Economic decisions should strictly be made by those who actually understand economics.

If the EU was kept strictly as an economical union, yes... but that union has become too political.

I still believe a referendum was unnecessary. UKIP run for general elections, if people wanted out at all costs they would win a majority in Parliament (although they did grow massively in recent years). Yesterday turned out to be more of a protest vote and a deluded attempt at getting rid of immigration by marking a magic paper. It's the protest vote with the most dramatic consequences in history.

I think the political union is the main reason of Brexit, not the economical union since the latter is in interest of everyone. Too bad it didn't remain like before as well as the national currency in every single state along with Euro. I guess the UK wouldn't think of leaving except UKIP.

What I struggle to understand is that yes, the EU has both good and bad sides. But to the common individual, it is only the good which affects him: free movement, way more opportunities, getting the benefits locals do in other countries such as healthcare, no duty on stuff bought from Europe, option to apply for research funds, scholarships, art funds and so on. The list is endless.

The bad stuff affects governments more than anyone. The truth is, how many of your government's decisions do you have a direct say over? It is not much different from the EU. Those working class Brits who voted leave yesterday have merely substituted one unreachable higher class entity for another. What the referendum has served to achieve is to highlight how isolated the working class feels, and it's true; England has a massive class distinction problem, more than most European countries. But getting rid of the EU won't solve that at all, as it was not the cause of the problem in the first place. That's why the referendum turned into nothing more than a protest vote. Hopefully it does serve as a wake-up call to UK politicians to address the issue, but that could have been achieved as part of the Union just the same.

What does that even mean? The implications and consequences are still purely economical. We had a leader who would've decided on the economically preferable choice, doesn't matter what his political agenda is, but he was so democratically pushed by the even worse leader candidates.

The value of any given money in the UK has dropped by 31% in one day. These people didn't know any of this before they were voting. The economists and the pro-remain people did. May the racist bigots suffer for what they've done.

UK was always with only one foot in the EU... it was only a matter of time... EU lost like 30% of their image with this decision... if France does the same, it'll be 60% and so on...

Sorry... I'ma get a little mire personal here, and ask those "EUSSR" (and yet still Putin-supporting) callers right away: WHAT THE FRIGGIN HELL is so undemocratic about the EU? What is it taking from you? In what wayis it restricting your freedom? What do you think would change for the positive without it? And - this one's for you ramseij - what is it that you think has changed ever since you were on the PRO side?
I'ma give you one example: TTIP... We have as little say in it as any of you... So stop this "Bruxelles-Berlin" shit, because the only thing different here is that we pay significantly more - ironically for your wealth as well...

I'm sorry, but some people live in the past... Some even in a past they never saw and only claim to know something about...
Thing is we have entered a new age of imperialism a long time ago, economic imperialism... And you might not like it... Neither do I... But it's not gonna go away...

I'd start worrying more for the EU than the UK... Independence is a right and they achieved it democratically so enough whining.

The effect on the EU is still to be determined. From what I'm reading, in the UK and outside, in Europe and elsewhere, it is the image of the UK that has been changed beyond recognition.

Great answer... I'm not worried... I'm all for kicking them out with no particular advantages whatsoever! How were they not independent?
And is it the same independence your Idol Putin so generously advocates? ;)

From outside perspective it's definitely the UK who's looking like the bloody fools. Not one pro-exit person can name a good logical reason for leaving that would immediately improve their standard of living. Conservative "**** the Romanians" reasons don't count.
