Due to this being my last day off and my girlfriend at work, I'm taking this opportunity to Geek out and watch all three of the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings!

I want to do that someday. They're still some of the best movies I've ever seen and one of my favourite books as well.

Hitler: The Rise of Evil

This is a TV drama starring Scottish actor Robert Carlyle and other famous actors.

It is actually quite historically accurate and done in very good taste, quite thought provoking at times too. It charts his rise to power from his time in Vienna thru the Great War, Beer Hall Putsch up to the Night of the Long Knives.

Anyone with an interest in WWI up to WWII should enjoy (if that's the right word, maybe appreciate) this film.

Not as much "accurate" and "good taste" as "hilarious". Carlyle's over-the-top performance in that movie is a thing of beauty, but you have to say, the film is so ridiculously anvilicious.

Mission accomplished: Get mentioned in a movie. Not bad, might have to check it out if the reviews are good.

Downfall to me is still the best Hitler movie ever. Bruno Ganz makes Anthony Hopkins look like a high school drama student and either himself or the movie should have won the Oscar for that nomination; can't recall who got nominated. Too bad the movie's best scenes ended up as mockery material on YouTube.

But then again, those parodies are hilarious!

There is only one good Der Untergang parody, and this is it (and even then it's only funny if you've played good ol' Wolf3d):
