"The King's Speech" and "A Clockwork Orange" which is a 1971 classic but I hadn't watched it until now. Strange movie. I've been told it's supposed to get better the second or third time you watch it.

This is a strange movie indeed but you have to keep in mind the year it has released. It was a lot shocking back then.

I watched it a week or so ago with my girlfriend, though it was the second time I was watching it. I love Kubrick's movies

Just saw "Rounders" for he first time last nigth.

The funny thing is that i play poker for a living since 2005, so its pretty weird that this movie has me evade for so long.

Btw, Matt Damon caracter doesnt have what it takes to be a profesional player.

I saw "The kings speech" and I really dont see why all the fuzz about it...I understand the character is hard for someone to act..but movie as a whole is just not that great.

Oscars are just stupid in recent history...they give an Oscar [or nomination] to a movie they want people to like...and not to the best picture that people really like.

American Beauty
Chicago
Capote
Little miss sunshine
Brokeback mountain
Good night and good luck
Babel
Juno
There will be blood

etc...

There are a lot of movies not even worth watching...and they are nominated for Oscars :)

Maybe my taste is weird...but when I think about it..it really cant be because I love watching movies and watched like every movie there is in recent 15 years and like all genres...
When movie is good it is good...when it sucks than I must say it sucks:)

Yeah, Winters Bone was the best nominated oscar movie of 2010, and well out of all those movies only There Will Be Blood deserved it. [Although Assasination of Jesse James is my top 3 movie of all time and was also in 2007]

But like last year

- Somewhere
- Greenberg
- Biutiful

were all better than Kings Speech

You've got a point in the sense that some of those movies are overrated. None of them "sucks" though, as you prefer to call it. All of those movies you mentioned are rather slow Dramas. Just because you don't like a certain genre of film doesn't make all the movies out of that genre not worth watching. And if you seriously think "There Will Be Blood" was a bad movie, then I'm sorry but you do have a weird taste. I thought it was a masterpiece and one of the best movies of the last decade. And Daniel Day-Lewis is a brilliant actor.

I just watched a trailer of a documentary about the relevance of German socialist and philosopher Karl Marx's ideas for understanding the global economic and financial crisis of 2008—09” and further asks.

http://www.marxreloaded.com/

Unfortunately the documentary is in German only.
(BTW in the trailer there are many scenes of protests in Greece about economy crisis).

P.S. Maybe some of you are against certain political views, but keep in mind that most of the cases theory is quite different than implementation in real life. In other words, this post about this movie is not to offend anyone or anything or doesn't not represent MY views, I just found it really interesting with all the latest economy crisis etc...

AvatarX...

Just read "Mein Kampf" and you will see that a lot of people knew about that almost 100 years ago....It is a sad story everyone is brainwashed these days.

For me Karl Marx was one of the devil seeds...and when you learn about his ideology you see that almost 100.000.000 people were killed because of his ideology which was nurtured by zionists...he was a zionist afterall.

Hitler was giving his best to turn Germany into the place it once was...and give German people something they lost [culture, morale, pride, family values etc...] after Marxizm came into power during [and even before] World War I.

In Mein Kampf you can also read about how Zionists [marxists or even simpler jews] took over the Banks, School system, Culture, Media [newspapers than] etc...and he wanted to fight it.
It is the same thing that we are seeing today...but most of the people dont realize it:) as most of the people are brainwashed from Hollywood movies and zionist owned media and everything else that affects people`s mind.

Dont get me wrong...I did not get everything from Mein Kampf...I got it from years of reading historical material...Mein Kampf only made me see that the same problem we are seeing today was introduced more than 100 years ago.

I am recommending it to anyone who likes history...it is one of the best books I have ever read.
PS: if you decide to read it...be open minded about it:) and dont judge before you read the whole 1st part of the book.
