Nowadays I find all action movies boring. Full of cliches and you know how it's going to end. Bad guy starts getting the upper hand, then good guy starts hitting back. Ok, now it's time to get rid of the weapons and start punching each other so the movie stretches a little bit more. You know it's ridiculous when they spend a minute of a movie showing Vin Diesel getting his shotgun out of the car's trunk, sawing off the long barrels to make it a sawed-off shotgun and then shoot the bullets in the air because this is a 'street fight'? (watched Furious 7) :P They're all the same.

The Avengers are a snooze fest. The last I enjoyed was The Guardians of the Galaxy because surprisingly it had good 3D effects. Damn it! Watching too much CinemaSins. Also 45 seconds of logos. :P

I'm not really a fan of ordinary action movies either, unless it's something like James Bond. I do like science fiction though, and sci-fi movies tend to involve action. Still, the action part is the one that interests me least. In fact, I don't like those sci-fi movies which are just about an alien invasion/apocalypse scenario. I like to call them the cheap ones.

Haha! That's awesome. Have downloaded Death Parade but still have not watched it yet. Did you watch One Punch Man? It's got good ratings.

BTW, your display picture is it from The Wind Rises or maybe Porco Rosso? Looks a lot like something from Miyazaki.

Haha Porco Rosso. Nice catch. I really like the themes he explores.

And yet from what I hear he is kind of a douche to his own son, maybe because he wants his son to be his own man. I tell you there are no perfect people these days.

I am slightly bemused they chose three different directors for the three different movies. VII felt like the director may have stuck to an old plot because the plot screamed STAR WARS and they wanted to prove to Star Wars fans they could do a Star Wars movie. Moving forward I would have assumed they would have more freedom to build off that base, and to change directors is strange to me.

Really hoping the guy directing IX doesn't do what he did to Jurassic World where shit happened for no reason. Chris Pratt carrying that tiny rifle around everywhere never firing it, Bryce Dallas Howard going the entire movie running around in heels, the Jurassic World employees making the dumbest decisions... At least the movie was funny and decently done but still..

True that... Also, it was anothe fake ass copy :D

I think the whole approach is another classic Disney strategy... The franchise is supposed to be an everyday thing, getting further installments every few years... Sucking the blood out of it like they did with PotC and the Marvel stuff by overdoing it... The directors are the ones that are currently "hot" in Hollywood (I mean WTF has Breaking Bad to do with Star Wars?) and they want to be independent from them making them interchangeable, phasing out classic Star Wars motifs, making it an everyday popcorn movie...

I'd prefer if they started going in a different direction. Like I said with VII they wanted to stick to the Star Wars stuff to prove they could recreate the universe. But watching what Lucas did with the prequel trilogy... I was fine with Abrams.

Well, honestly, I think Abrams' movie is on par with Ep III - ranking above II and I - still not as good as IV-VI...
