I watched Star Wars on Christmas Eve. Great stuff, one of the best.

Spoiler: show
However I had heard there's a twist at the end, so as the movie was nearing the ending I started to look for it. Still don't know what it is. :P

"Die Andere Heimat - Chronik einer Sehnsucht" (2013) or English titled as "Home From Home". This 3 hour and fifty minute epic is a prequel to the Heimat series and is set in the fictional Hunsrück village of Schabbach in 1840-1844. Story of times of famine and migration to the western hemisphere. Poignant to me as the first part of my family who emigrated from (then part of) Bavaria, same from about 75 km south of there.

Watched the Star Wars film a couple of days ago. Not impressed with the amount of content where they drag it way too long and not enough quality action in the movie to be called a $200+ million movie- especially when the stars take a big cut of the movie, just like Mockingjay Part 1. Things like the old wipe scenes doesn't make it feel like innovative.

Other movies I've revisited- some classic 80's and 90's movies like the Running Man, Good Will Hunting and Forrest Gump. Now these movies are full of great acting, memorable quotes and scenes.

Mehmet Scholl once offered a mixtape CD to Oliver Kahn. Kahn replied: Do you want me to shoot myself? Keep your crap to yourself.

I think the twist is
Spoiler: show
the return of the pilot from the beginning, the deth of Han (**** bastrds, destroying millions of people's hero like that... -.- ) and the return of Luke - but yeah, we knew about that...

Also the movie is 4th best AT BEST... And much of it comes from the return of the original cast and the UNBELIEVEABLE score John Williams pulls off yet again...
Thanks for nothing, :pep: !!

The pilot's return could be the twist referred to, yeah. Han Solo's death was unexpected prior to the movie but I expected it during the scene. After all, main characters often die/seem to die. The question is whether or not he'll return, as he's on the cast list for the next movie.

I would rate this one higher than episodes 1-4. Probably not as good as 5 and 6 though.

Of ourse he will - but not in the present... There's a lott of loose ends to be tied together... Why did Ben turn to the dark side and worship Vader? Where are the other Jedi? (They "returened", didn't they? :P) What happened between Han and Leia? (Probably Ben has a say in it too...) - there have to be some flashbacks at some point... So the second one will not be as interesting as the third one from an aspect looking to strive for the conclusion of the trilogy...

I've only watched the films, but there are basically two common orders: either the order they were filmed in (IV, V, VI, I, II, III, VII) or chronologically (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII).

If you're watching for the first time and have absolutely no idea of even the most well-known plot points in the story, I suggest one of these two custom orders for maximum effect, with a preference for the first:
IV, V, I, II, III, VI, VII
I, II, IV, V, III, VI, VII (in this one, you'd get a jump in time between II and IV which appears unexplained until you watch III as a flashback between V and VI).

In all orders, you can easily just skip episode I altogether.

Never watched those.

Episode one is ok but doesn't add all that much to the story, except for how Anakin was "discovered".

Plus **** Jar Jar :P :D

Either leave out I-III (they basically suck anyways, except for part III) completely or go with chronologically...

What movie have you just watched?

Postby pyrasur » Tue Dec 29, 2015 12:30 am

I go IV, V, VI, I, II, Cartoon Network clone wars (not the CGI one) III. The cartoon was great when I was a kid two hours total and on YouTube.

The prequels aren't great but Star Wars is great so wth. Agree with 12 episode III is must see. The action scenes for the prequels were good anyway and the prequels are great for drinking games.
