Samsung has announced it's ending production of the Galaxy Note 7 around the world, pulling the plug on the phone after a months-long controversy over its defective, dangerous batteries. "Taking our customer’s safety as our highest priority, we have decided to halt sales and production of the Galaxy Note 7," said Samsung in a statement. The announcement follows yesterday's news that the company is recalling all Note 7 devices, including the supposedly safe replacement phones. [source]

On all units worldwide? Doubt it. Sounds like a major lack of quality testing.

Why would Apple sabotage Samsung? Not very likely IMHO...
All of that shit is optimized for maximum profit, assembled in China, exploiting thousands in the process... It's about time it kicked back...
Thanks for nothing, :pep: !!

So I'm going to have to replace my phone soon (samsung galaxy note 4), I'm thinking about the iPhone 7plus. I can get a good deal for it when I upgrade.
Does anyone have any experience or know anything about it?

If I were buying a phone in that price range right now I would definitely go for the Google Pixel, just saying

I'd say go for the 6S Plus instead if you want an iPhone. The difference isn't that great, you get a headphone jack, and you'll probably save $100-200.

If you don't want iOS at all costs, you should consider the Google Pixel as already mentioned, although in that case I suggest waiting a bit to hear some more about it from other owners.

I was searching for a Note 7 and was thinking that it not only affected Samsung but also the manufacturers of accessories. Not sure if they will work with similar sized phones but what a waste if not.

Well, most accessories work with any phone. When it comes to cases and stuff like that it's up to Samsung to make sure the size, buttons, and ports of their next flagship phone are as close as possible to the Note 7. Sometimes I think they make changes on purpose to mess with us. Recently my friend was looking for a new laptop and I helped her choose. Found two similar ASUS ones, the older one was slightly cheaper, not much worse but not available from Malta while the newer one was. The thing is, while looking I found a hard shell case for the old one which she fell in love with but the company that makes them does not have one for the newer model. The only difference in layout between the two (save for minimal differences in dimensions which shouldn't affect the case) is that the location of the ports on the side was reversed (the ones on the left in the old one are on the right in the new one and vice versa). That alone is enough to make the case incompatible.

I am not an apple fan but if you like taking portrait photos, then the dual camera setup will be a very good thing I reckon. Apart from that, it is a pretty meh device. The galaxy s7/s7 edge are generally superior devices when compared to iphones and IMO the samsungs are way better looking than the Apple device but that is a very subjective thing.

You could look into the Moto Z which is a very unique device with modularity and stuff. The nexus 6p is an amazing amazing phone. The best phone I've used. It is a bit tall but does not actually feel like a big 5.7" behemoth.
Huawei is also making other cool phones. The P9 is pretty impressive (with a different dual camera setup than the iphone) as well as the honor 8.
Then there is oneplus 3 which is a good device as well.

So if I wanted to avoid iOS at all costs (which I do), I'd pick up a nexus 6p. But if you really want to switch to iOS and are positively sure about your decision, the 6s/plus is a better device, the tradeoff being between 3.5mm headphone jack and a dual camera setup. Oh, and IMO the plus version iphones really feel clumsy compared to the larger-screen 6p.

Since you seem really into the smartphones 8)

Any thougths on these two smartphones? apparently Nexus 5X has better specifications and personally I consider it the best VFM smartphone out there, a friend of mined buyed 1 month ago and it's a fantastic smartphone especially if you consider the price.

BUT I'm a Samsung fan, S2 Plus in the past & S4 mini lately, I was very very pleased by these phones and I'm used to the home button plus that I want a phone with a screen less than 5'' inches preferably being AMOLED so I'm really into buying Samsung Galaxy A3 2016

What would you recommend? Nexus 5X or Galaxy A3 ? I'm more into the Galaxy A3 to be honest.
