I used to think they were a gimmick but after I got one I don't think so. Perhaps the technology is too early at the moment but I see a great future for VR.

I even watched some short movies. Imagine being able to look around wherever you want rather than where the director chooses. Makes a movie more re-watchable too.

Also you can watch normal movies anyway just as if you are in an IMAX cinema. You can even look around at the seats next to you or behind you which will light up depending on what is showing on screen. Truly an immersive experience.

That would probably steam up the lens from the inside due to condensation from the difference in temperature between inside and outside of the VR set.

Very exciting no doubt. It's hard to imagine what it's really like without trying it.

I think so too, but I don't think it'll be as pervasive or necessary as things like smartphones. The future of technology can be very hard to predict though.

I will wait for gen 2 of the VR systems; Rift/Vive. Too expensive and hopefully more content. It's going to be hard though for it to get mainstream. The minimum hardware requirements are high for casual consumers. The developers really need to optimize their games to get that 90FPS.
