Finally upgraded to Windows 8.1. Have to say it's the best Windows OS I have used. Very easy to get used to and fast. Already installed the Bayern app and the bing sports included app is not bad for tracking schedules and scores.

It couldn't even recognize wireless networks, let alone reach that speed! Plus fastest wireless speed is AC at 1Gbps I think.

I asked because a friend of mine had a 3G dongle that was supposed to give speeds up to around 7.2 mbps and he was getting around 5 mbps

For 3 days for a unknown cause he was getting 70 mbps readings which is far beyond the actual abilities of his dongle and also much much faster than the highest 3g speed in the country

The thing is that the reading was right and his internet was super fast

then this thing disappeared

This is why i asked

I have to buy a monitor but I can't really spend big and the PC market here is messed up so my options are pretty thin.

This Asus Monitor
and this Samsung

They look about the same to me. Full hd, 21.5" and cheap. The Samsung is a little expensive than the Asus (~15US $) probably because nobody knows about Asus here. Most people just buy Samsung.

I went to buy Asus one but the retailer found out that it wasn't in stock after searching his warehouse for an hour (Did i tell you the PC market here was weird). So now he will be shipping it to me on Monday after getting it in stock from somewhere (or maybe searching the warehouse again :D).

What do you guys think? Is the Asus monitor respectable or should I snub it to get the Samsung? It will be used for light gaming, some graphic designing (not professional, just for a student run journalism society) and watching movies and stuff.

I've had good luck in the past with ASUS - I would prefer it over the Samsung

I need a very budget tablet (the cheaper the better) to be used solely for document viewing and editing. I don't care about resolution or camera or anything like that for this case although bluetooth and wifi are musts (are there any tablets without those nowadays?). Any recommendations?

My old tablet no longer works and apart from that, it was a pain to edit documents on it because its typing was very slow to process. It is crucial that whatever I buy does not have the same issue.

Any idea whether I'd have to pay customs from China?

Generally no, but it is up to luck more than anything. MaltaPost is way better in this respect than DHL

This. With DHL, they asked me on 2 separate occasions to send them the invoice even though on the package the seller wrote $23 or less. Never had to pay when using standard courier.
