Yep. Stayed at the hotel Alexandra I think. Pretty terrible. Haha

But since it is high season it was hard to find a better hotel.

Yeah, it was all the company. They usually book better hotels, but because high season and in a short time notice...

I might go again in December for the Christmas party, but I am still not sure I want to go.

I would say that this particular time of year is the only one that if I am tourist I would not consider.
Ok we have our things you know but it is completely different than the atmosphere in mainland Europe

Man arrested for letting off pepper spray in Maltese nightclub [source]

Hopefully no one suffered any serious injuries and all our Maltese mates and any members of their family that may have been there, are alright...

Yes it was an 18year old idiot.
74 young ppl were hurt. 2 were greviously injured and one was in danger. However the latest News are comforting as she is now making improvements.
The owners are in deep s*** and they have to pay the price... There were 13year olds in there...
The girl with the most serious of injuries is 13. What the hell was she doing in there and out from home at 1.30! With all due respect even her parents are to blame.
The law says that 17 yo can enter bars and clubs.

Hopefully no one suffered any serious injuries and all our Maltese mates and any members of their family that may have been there, are alright...

I was very close by, just a couple of streets away enjoying a few beers with my friends. We decided to head home just a few minutes after the accident, and would have passed right in front of it had we not met a friend who warned us not to go there because there were loads of police cars, ambulances, and a fire engine. A few minutes later another friend who had left just before we did called us and said he had rumours of gunshots and a gas attack in a nightclub in the area (people always exaggerate things).

The problem is that because of the nature of the accident, everyone in the area was well aware something tragic had happened but except those who were in the place it happened, no one really knew what exactly happened. All we saw were police all over the place wearing bulletproof vests (because security had been boosted the night before), ambulances, police cars doing the rounds with lights on, people crying everywhere and fearful looks on faces. A stranger actually stopped us and told us to go home immediately. I was parked around a 20 minute walk away (taking the long route to avoid the scene of the accident) and we never stopped hearing sirens on the way there. As I drove my friends home, we saw police directing traffic away and I saw at least 6 ambulances drive by on the way home as well as a Major Incident Support Unit van. Because of the ambiguity of what was going on (mass media and social media had nothing on the matter up to this point) and because this was 24 hours after Paris everyone's mins naturally raced ahead to terrible (and thankfully untrue) conclusions. I have never felt such fear before, and I have never seen so many scared and panicked people in such a short time. To me, it signalled the state we are currently living in after last Friday, even though this was completely unrelated.
