Surprised to find another Lakers fan. Most everyone else I thought supported the Lakers has somehow always been a Golden State fan.

Cheers

I do support GSW when they’re representing Cali in the Finals. In the regular season it’s Lakers, although they’ve sucked for quite some time now. Let’s hope Lakers get the first draft soon. :)

On a side note.. Sharapova is a Goddess. Maybe women’s tennis will be a bit more watchable with her back

Booo. I'll cheer for San Antonio first. But I respect the type of players that play under Popovich. Beautiful team basketball, everyone contributes, and the stars are humble. Almost makes me believe in socialism.

As to your side note, I'm divided on Sharapova. I can kind of see her excuse, but so many pro tennis players are furious that she got away with it.

^ I ain’t supporting no Texas team over Cali teams. I hate Sacramento but if they’re up against a non-CA team in the playoffs I’d still want them to win! In the finals I only watch if there’s a Cali team involved otherwise I just abstain from the finals altogether. But you’re right at the moment San Antonio are the only team in the Western conference that has any chance against Golden State.

———-

As for Sharapova, she did the crime she did the time. She has served her punishment and that should be that. We don’t support double jeopardy now, do we? And I’ll go as far as to say that many athletes could (may) be on all sorts of drugs, it’s just that those who get caught are lynched for it. For instance I feel sorry for anyone who truly believes that it was only Lance Armstrong doping at the Tour de France

Btw, that side note was for everyone! Who thinks Sharapova is a fine lady!

FINA: just as BS and corrupt as FIFA

Earlier today in the final of the World Men's Water Polo Development Trophy, Malta were beating Iran 8-6. With 33 seconds left until the end of the game - which, in waterpolo terms which allow a maximum of 30 seconds for each action means that a comeback was very close to impossible - the Iranians started provoking and insulting the Maltese players, who reacted. The referees sent off FIVE Iranian players and two Maltese ones but the Iranians who were sent off kept shouting at the Maltese outside the pool. Eventually the Iranian players still in the pool got out and then the Maltese ones also rushed to the scene to defend their friends (there was no physical violence). Because of this, the referees ended the game and disqualified both finalists, effectively handing the trophy to 3rd place Uruguay.

The Maltese shouldn't have retaliated but they are only human. Idiotic decision by the authorities.

Iranians were not accepting a defeat... especially against infidels

Not an F1 fan but you can't avoid it here at the moment now that arrogant little shit Hamilton is champion again. A man so "proud to be British" that he lives in Switzerland to avoid paying taxes on his ridiculous wealth.

Shame Vettel couldn't last the pace after a promising first half of the season.

Are you surprised that I'm not a fan of an English sportsman who doesn't play with a wooden bat and a leather ball?

I have a question for you...
Why both basketball and volleyball are not so popular in England?
Same can be said about waterpolo.

Football Rugby Cricket athletics and maybe polo and those other sports where horses are involved the resst is non existent. Am I right?

Could it be because they weren't invented in Britain? A google search tells me they were both invented in Massachusetts.
