To the Maltese users, get yourselves down to the national pool and support Sliema in the waterpolo cup final on Tuesday.

I played water polo for the first time during my recent vacation and I can say that it is really one lovely sport, albeit as tough as hell.

It must be very tiring to play it. Watching it is a lot of fun because there are no long breaks, so the game is ongoing all the time. I also enjoy it because my team tends to have better support in it than in football.

I like to watch any waterpolo match however I've never been to one at the Pixxina. Congrats for Sliema, by the way I have sympathies with Neptunes...

Congratulations to Neptunes though. I don't know if you heard but the game was terrific. It ended as a draw after extra time and went to penalties (which is very very rare), and Neptunes were even winning in the shootout at one point. At no point during the game did any team spend more than around 20 seconds in the lead. It was nerve-wrecking. I am sure I will never watch such a tense game again in my life.

Yes, I'm definitely going on Saturday. :)

I really want to attend to waterpolo match - once I was going to a Malta - Turkey but somehow I've forgot
Yes I know... Sliema - Neptunes is always like that...
I think that you are very strong this yr (sliema wanderers). we have a new defence and one of our players Herrera is suspended just because he failed to present a medical certificate!

This time it was worse not only because of what I mentioned and because it was a final, but because of the unusual circumstances which made the two teams want to lose even less. Neptunes have pretty much won everything in the past 3 years and Sliema had a disastrous league season this time, so it was the last chance to make up for it. On the other hand Neptunes will in all likelihood lose the league as well (thanks to Sliema :P ) so they wanted this title even more.

I'll answer the rest in the "Maltese football" thread. :)

The Pittsburgh Pirates are winners again!!! =D> =D> =D>

The longest North American (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA) streak for consecutive losing seasons was held by the Pirates. Their last winning season was 1992. 20 YEARS!!! #-o Baseball has always been my favorite sport and the Pirates have always been my favorite team so it's nice to be able to brag (a little) about the Pirates for the first time since I was 11. Even if most of you here ( i would imagine) don't give a "hot sh#t" about baseball. :P They'll make the playoffs and after that its really a "crapshoot." I'm just gonna enjoy it while it lasts! 8)

Congrats. :D
I hardly follow baseball but I do stick for 30 odd mins when I see the game is on any sports channel. No idea about teams.
However, I have always loved playing baseball video games. :D

I love baseball. A brilliant sport and riveting watch.

The most basic explanation I can give you is: throw ball, hit ball, catch ball. :P
It's definitely a lot more intricate than that, kind of an athletic chess match. Horrible explanation, I know, but its still a great sport.
