I think that's the most nostalgic post I've seen here. Me and other members my age are probably the last generation to experience most of that. Only dial-up is unfamiliar to me and that's probably because we spent a few years without internet access at home.

As far as the pinball goes, I used to have this game (I think it was a trial) where the pinball setting was an island with a volcano (I think it was actually the first level but that was the only one available to me). I loved that game... I've actually been trying to find it for years.

Apart from pinball my computer gaming was limited to shockwave... Specifically Shockmachine which let you download a bunch of their games (or at least that is my modern day interpretation of it) and had a nice interface. I played loads of different ones but the ones that are most nostalgic are Lenny Walkabout, Fat Boy Raids the Cookie Factory, and of course the classic Waterballoon Drop (1-5)

I don't know what any of those games you mentioned are (except Pinball, of course). As a child the PC game I played the most was one called King Quest VI (a classic point and click adventure title from Sierra). I played through it recently again, it's such a finely crafted game, the voice acting is remarkable and the whole game mythology is extremely creative and unique. Fun times :)

There was also Lode Runner and The Incredible Machine. This was my PC gaming from 6-10 hahaha. Then I got an N64 and into games such as StarCraft (going to internet LAN shops with friends to play in parties was one of my favorite activities!) and Diablo I & II (spent untold ammounts of time in Diablo II). Hahahahahah

oh man, Diablo II... I would stay over at a friends house all weekend with a few other guys, and we'd play Diablo II LAN all weekend... those were the days!

Me too... :D you were able to create custom battlefields.

The game is online now if you want to relive it.

Riiiighttt! I didn't remember that detail! That was probably why I liked the game so much! I'll check it out when I'm free :D

Me and my brother used to play this against each other on the same keyboard. One using the wasd keys and the other the arrow keys. We used to physically fight after every match and I ended up always beaten up. He is 7 years older than me. :(

Haha I have a demo of that but never owned the actual game. Remember Sony used to make CDs with a bunch of game demos on them? :D
