That is true... can't dribble and will trip over himself before successfully dribbling anyone, his latest dribble dates back in 2009.

OK, you're just a jealous hater.

Yes, you are. Because you have to see that if Messi didn't exist then Ronaldo would have won the Ballon d'Or 8 times out of the last 9 times (the exception being 2010 where Ronaldo was not in the top 3). It would be an absolute record, head and shoulders above what any player won individually. If you think he's not so great, then you fail to appreciate what an absolute phenomenal consistent goalscoring machine he is.

Gerd used to score as many goals but that didn't get him more than 1 Ballon d'Or, goals are overrated today.

You wanna know whats funny.

If you ever see those videos on top 11, rarely does any professional football player pick Cristiano in their starting 11.... However, pretty much everyone picks Messi.

And it's unbelievable talking about RM Ronaldo being inferior. Let me just leave this out there. Won't participate in any other troll/hater discussions about the football genius.

MU Ronaldo: 0.43 goals per game
RM Ronaldo: 1.08 goals per game
Basically he scores at a rate of 2.5x higher for Real Madrid than he did at United.

He's not even the best Ronaldo... the real Ronaldo would dribble even today better than the fake one.

What have we learned today?
That MUTU is a Penaldo fan boy
Seriously I don't like him at all but one cannot deny his abilities

The truth lies somewhere between these two views in my opinion. Ronaldo is one of the best players since 2000, he's an incredibly good footballer. I think he does deserve to be in Team Europe.

But it's also true that he tends to play less well in big games. Sometimes he's invisible and then scores when the game is already won. Sometimes he just gets a penalty. Sometimes he isn't contributing much but happens to be at the right place for a goal. And sometimes he doesn't score at all. It is perhaps unfair to judge him on having less good moments vs good teams (I mean, that's obvious isn't it. Anyone would shine more vs worse opposition). However, he invites this kind of comments when you look at how he acted in RM's CL finals, for example, in which he was mostly invisible. The problem with MUTU's view is that he is relying too much on whether he scored or not in those games. Same with Messi... you could say that Messi has never scored when they were eliminated BECAUSE he is so influential for the team; when he doesn't score, they go out.

Just cause u take 10 shots a game, doesnt mean your a good and accurate goalscorer.

CAVANI IS leading and leading by a good number in Europe even though he is an average shooter.

This is very similar to the Frank Lampard argument. Lampard has like million goals. IS he really in team EUrope? NOPE...

Frank Lampard and Cristiano are both same types of players.

I hope ramsej doesn't mind. I renamed the thread to Legends of the Game. It sounds a bit less '300ish'.

Very late to the party as I just opened this thread and read the last 20 posts or so, jesus is this post the only one that makes sense. Messi best of all time and Cristiano Ronaldo second best of all time. Simple.
