I am not guilty of such phrases... however sometimes I make use of words such as ... refurbish-jaha, and such words which I cannot remember at the moment but I am sure many make use of them without noticing it.

I do use those but mostly when we have no equivalent in Maltese or when I don't know it. In your case I would use "irrinovaha". I think the only exception to this rule is that I always use "iffollowja" rather than "segwi".

I would use that with a person but in terms of football I'd say "fallieh". Do we have an alternative when it means "to miss a person"? Can't think of one.

Mahta ... a derogatory word for mucus ...

We use it for someone with an attitude ... for example '' dak / dik mahta (he / she is a ... or arah ja mahta. (look at him what a ... )

while writing this post I am comparing it to when someone calls another one a dickhead or an asshole

re my last post in documentaries thread I reconfirmed how the language I speak is amazingly similar to Arabic (can't say which dialect though)

in that doc I've posted ISIL soldiers were heard shouting ... '' wiccek mal-hajt'' - face to the wall
'' qum '' get up ...
'' ejja'' come
iwa / le ... yes / no

the numbers ............. 100% the same...
