I really like "Il-kumplament (tal-festi t-tajba)" which is used in the week between Christmas and New Year's Day

I really hate it... probably cause it is used wrongly...I hear it all the time even in the first week of Dec

True, and it's a shame. It's a nice and unusual expression in our language but as you said it is not usually used in the right way.

It is, yes. :) There are a handful of words which are similar enough to give it away, but believe me, if the first time you encounter it is spoken (as I did) you'll just think you're hearing an alien speak.

Same to you! Does "Krystdaen" mean "The day of Christ"?

Yip it does! Fun fact: Frisian doesn't have the singular word Christmas.

Alphabet aside I doubt Arabic is harder than Polish. However keep in mind that - also alphabet aside - Arabic is probably one of the easiest for Maltese speakers so I may be biased.

The other way round is even more true. As in, Maltese is so easy for Arabic-speakers that you can speak to most of them in Maltese and they can understand most of what you're saying.
