Even things that don't actually exist in the physical world have a gender in German:

Das Vertrauen ("trust" or "faith (in someone)")
Die Liebe ("love")
Der Zorn ("anger" or "rage")

However another word for Zorn is Wut, which is female "die Wut".

German is hard unless you're a native speaker :-D.

I would suggest changing you FM12 language to German if you play a lot. I'm doing the same, but with French, as I have an AP course.

Learning the gender of the things in German being Spanish is much more difficult, because here in Spain we also have Maskulin and Feminin but we don't have Neutrum.

And to make it worse there are some things in Spanish that are Maskulin, but they are Neutrum or Feminin in Deutsch so it's really annoying

For example:

English: The gIrl
German: Das Mädchen (Neutrum)
Spanish: La chica (Feminin)

BTW I read this

Berufstätig sein und ein Kind erziehen, das ist nicht leicht

And I want to know if this is also correct and means the same

Berufstätig sein und ein Kind erziehen ist nicht leicht

Yeah, it means exactly the same.

Having a job and raising a kid, that's not easy.

Here's a little "homework" for you guys:

Have fun. :-D

Learning it starting from Estonian is a lot worse - we don't even have a concept of grammatical genders. It's the reason why I simply can't, no matter how much I practice, get them right.

Ich muss "ss" benutzen für meine Klaviatur hat keine "ß".

We have "klaviatur" in Estonian, so I always thought it was a loaner from German, like a lot of words are.

Well yes, "Klaviatur" is a German word, but it's only used for the keys on a piano. Makes sense, since the German word for "piano" is "Klavier".

Ich denke, dass diese/r/s 'Thread' eine gute Idee ist!(Wie sagt man Thread auf Deutsch?)

Ich studierte auch Deutsch für zwei Jahren, aber habe ich bereits mein Deutsch vergessen (Übrigens, gibt es einen Unterschied zwischen 'schon' und 'bereits'?). :( Verzeih mir mein fieses Deutsch!

Sorry for my poor German skills. It's been a while since I last spoke (or even attempted to speak) in German. I highly welcome the comments and corrections of our German grammar police out there! :D

I want to try and learn German. I have already made a start and have learned quite a bit of vocabulary, but still haven't gotten to much of the grammar apart from conjugations in the present tense and a few other things.

Unfortunately it's been a couple of weeks since I've worked on it because I have been busy with other things, but I hope to resume my studying soon.

From what I have covered so far, gender is definitely the hardest. I mean, some of those don't make sense. I also find it harder to understand the neutral gender because it does not exist in Maltese. It is found in English, but I learned English just like I learned Maltese, so grammar in English is natural to me. I never studied the grammar (actually, I did have it at school, but I never studied it anyway).

Doesn't the one you use depend on whether the vowel is hard or soft? Or was I wrongly informed?
