Yes please, but the problems with the script and characters would still be, errr, below par.

Well I've since gotten the real Lightning Returns and haven't been impressed, although I haven't played it much yet. Still, it's probably the first time I got a Final Fantasy game without spending hours on it immediately.

I really wanted to play Lightning Returns but sadly it's not available for the PS4, however, I'm really looking forward to Final Fantasy XV. Looks promising, I really hope I can get my hands on the Japanese version though :D

From what I've seen so far you're not missing much. :( Hopefully I will change my opinion once I play through it all.

I've read mixed reviews about it as well, but it depends on each person I guess. Hope you enjoy it though.

What's everyone's anticipated 2014 release video game?

Will be awhile before I decide to get a next-gen console... And some of them are still released for the 360 & PS3... (I'm due for a computer upgrade soon too).

Mine are:
1. Infamous Second Son (which is out, will definitely get it IF I get a PS4).
2. Watch Dogs (my bf likes to diss me on this... but hey at least I can get to play it for the 360 - thank goodness Ubisoft's games are region free!)
3. Witcher 3 (still have to beat the first 2 however >.>)
4. Child of Light - looks very interesting so far... but will wait for more reviews (not exactly my type of game)...
5. Persona 5 (English version out next year, but the Japanese version is released this winter) - easily one of my favorite franchises, been playing since the first one (the original PS1 version, with a weird localization to boot )
6. Dragon Age: Inquisition - definitely top of my 2014 list, my preferred current-gen BioWare franchise (over Mass Effect)

I haven't touched Final Fantasy after the first 10 minutes of X-II  Was massively disappointing...

Second Son reminds me so much of Prototype. Still one of the best parkour animation I've seen and that game is old. lol

Can't really say I'm looking forward to any games this year, especially compared to the much-anticipated Tomb Raider and GTA V last year. I'd probably go with the FIFA World Cup game or Civilization: Beyond Earth, which has just been announced.

X-II was a very unneccesary game and I agree, not so good, although it did have some fun parts. After that, with XII and XIII the games pretty much moved away from your typical Final Fantasy game and that is why I still prefer the older games. However I think I like XII and XIII more than most people do. I think they have good storylines, especially XIII and XIII-2. Lightning Returns, like X-II, seems unnecessary.

Witcher 3 was delayed until 2015 sadly, but I'm really looking forward to it as well.

Apart from that mine are Dragon Age Inquisition, Final Fantasy XV and Destiny! Really can't wait to play Destiny, I've waited a long time to play a Halo-like MMO and now it's finally here. It's looking absolutely incredible.

GOTY only belongs to Goat Simulator. Maybe hearthstone is second so far. Has anyone got the new Fifa world cup game? Any good?

My top 4 FF's in terms of quality, my favorite is actually FFX, but that's only because I grew up with it. I had to go back to play FFVI and FFIV, but they're both amazing.

- 0: Chrono Trigger, hehe
- 1: FFVI
- 2: FFVII
- 3: FFIV
- 4: FFX

I've only played from VII onwards. I think it would be:
1) FFVII
2) FFX
3) FFVIII
4) FFIX
5) FFXII
