A Green MEP said that the investigations must continue despite the result. In response, I read a comment saying (translated) "may the investigation not take place because that's what the people want".  #-o #-o

Watch: Marlene, Godfrey Farrugia carry on stoically as Carnival anthem greets them at counting hall [source]

How low. These two are likely to be the first ever third party candidates to be elected. It's a success for them personally.

You're right, it's a donkey. Still though... animal welfare intervened at least.

No, no one from PN has resigned so far, but ONE is reporting that the leadership (PN, not PD) will resign tomorrow morning. I think it's to be expected even though I don't fully agree with it. That said, Simon Busuttil did not comment on his future in the statement he gave.

Why are you opposed to it?
They had a disastrous campaign.
PN needs a revamp, surely not a woman though... with all due respect to the other sex.

I think Ann Fenech needs to go, and they need a lot of new and good candidates. I also don't think Beppe Fenech Adami should be there. I never liked him at all. I'm all for Simon Busuttil and Mario de Marco staying though. Leaving now would mean giving up the war, passing the torch on to someone else who will conclude that the people don't want negativity and try to instill positive vibes or something. Personally, I couldn't care less about this or any other party, only about the good of Malta. For that reason, we must look at this as a fight lost against corruption, but not the end of the war. And I believe if that is to happen then the man who has put his neck out against corruption, and who is now involved in a number of cases about it where he has presented the evidence in court, must stay on as leader. 5 years is a long time. Time will hopefully bring out the truth, and if that happens, people won't think "Oh but Simon lost by 40k+ last time".

That said, I still can't understand how it's possible that the margin of victory is bigger than in 2013. I'm not alleging anything, I can't see how tampering is possible in our system at all. But it is a bit fishy.

Yeah, ann fenech too ... I was really unimpressed by her and this is coming from someone who in 2013 fancied her as the new leader.

As for the new leadership I am sure that the resignations won't be accepted.

De Marco is a good man and also very humble.

Simon did a lot of mistakes plus he is not good for local politics he should have stayed in Brussels...

Beppe will try and hijack the party if his resignation is not accepted.

If things stay as they are I will continue to vote for somebody else as I did this time.

AD
PD
PL
Will never get my vote though.
The AD; I sympathize with them cause I agree on some issues but the core creed in which they believe goes against all that I as Ramsej stand for

Actually I read about tampering. Probably sour grapes but multiple people claimed that they were commissioners for the PN and police came to them at the end and asked them to remove the PN siġill... And they did. Sounds farfetched to believe to be honest because these same people had a book with the list of who voted and a simple count on that book would yield a different count of the number of votes for the district, or else an unusually high amount of invalid votes if any of the boxes were tampered with.

Doesn't look like it. I calculated roughly 800 ones for MPM, and I read there are about 2k for AD. Depends on inherited votes.
