my vote #1 Allejanza ghal Bidla

#3 one of the PN candidates (either Ivan Bartolo or the other guy from Mosta whom I've forgot his name)

with such a vote I will still vote for the PN due to our perverse and unfair system

I'm still unsure in which order I'll vote. #1 will be the leader of the Opposition though. The other ones I'd like to vote for are Alex Mangion, Ralph Cassar (both local councillors in Attard), maybe Carmel Cacopardo.

Do we have any Partit Demokratiku candidates in our district? I'd probably vote for them.

No you won't vote for PN this way. In fact your vote would be quite useless.

no, after the candidate with #1 get eliminated it will be transferred on the #2 and when this one will get eliminated as well it will be transferred to the next and so on...
maybe I will include two more candidates in order not to go wasted!

I thought they needed to be elected rather than eliminated. Thanks for the explanation.

The one you mentioned works when the candidate get the required quota to get elected. The extra votes (if any) will be then be transferred to the the #2

What I dislike about the system is the way it works when the candidate gets elected. Say I give number 1 to candidate A and 2 to B. MUTU gives 1 to A and 2 to C. When A is elected, the extra votes above the quota are transferred. This means there's a chance that my vote won't be transferred but MUTU's will, meaning that C gets a vote while B doesn't.

I'm not sure how which ones get transferred is determined but unless I'm wrong about how it works, it's not fully representative. That said in Malta the #1 votes are the most important as they determine the election irrespective of who follows
