Some foxes were driving my dogs nuts every night so I went to hunt them down today and shot 3, problem solved. New guests will be around probably by next year.

We have the largest property in the whole country and it's next to the capital city but we don't allow anyone to hunt anything in it. There are rabbits, there are ducks when it's their season and etc... I never shot a rabbit or anything else even if I could expect foxes, foxes and hunters are not welcome here, OK, neither snakes.
Foxes can be rabies carriers...

Maltese snakes are venom - less
Someday I will explain the legend about this fact

Here snakes aren't that venomous either except one breed... but you don't want to be bitten by them nevertheless. It depends where you get bitten, snakes hanging in branches(in hunt for birds) represent more danger as they can attack your upper body. There are scorpions too... but like snakes, they're not the most venomous.
I must admit that snakes are my biggest fear... I still don't run away when I see one but I stay to fight it. I hate them more because you can never tell where one can be... and can accidentally step in one which never ends good.
Snakes that live in a more extreme environment are more venomous, that's how I see it... and so goes for scorpions, spiders and etc.

Same here. Although I don't remember the event, apparently when I was very young we had a swing in our garden and I was left alone on it and there was this huge snake somehow entered the garden from a hole in the wall. My mother saw it from the kitchen window with a view of the garden and rushed outside to take me in. I was young/small enough that it could have killed me.

I have absolutely no recollection of this and for all I know it could be made up (doubt it :P ), but I have a huge fear of snakes which I have always attributed to be a subconscious effect of this.

You don't see many snakes in Malta. I could count the times I've seen one on one hand probably. I saw one very recently while I was on my way to go watch the CL final. I was walking while answering a phone call and I saw something on the floor (residential area) and I thought it was just some piece of plastic or something, then I saw it move. Didn't run but gave me quite a start (and a couple of curses  )... I'm surprised my phone didn't fly out of my hand. :P

After the game as I was walking back to my car I realised there was a construction site right next to where I saw it, which is probably how it ended up in a residential zone. I guess it was scared of me and ran there when it saw me approach.

I fear the fact that an exotic one might escape from its owner gives me shivers...

Haha you thought it was some piece of plastic! Not very uncommon

I would never mistake it for plastic... crushed more than 10 snakes so far.
Many times when I was walking nearly stepped in one... they say "like a snake in the grass".
IMO most people are born with that phobia. I've been told by my father and others that long time ago there was a man that worked for us and he knew how to call up snakes and used to keep some in his pocket... snakes from the field would come and gather around him, people witnessed it, impossible to comprehend. They said that he knew "their song"...

SOLID!!! I love hunting. When I was younger I lived elsewhere in the USA and worked on a farm. The farmed let my friends and I kill all the rodents and pests (groundhogs, foxes, rabbits). We loved it, we would go out with little guns and have a blast! We would occasionally hit them with our quads and dirt bikes :)

Where do you live? Largest property in the country!!! Must have some connections :)
Bayern for life, I just want to see at least one game...thats all I ask

Seems like I didn't finish the job... there's one more left.
I'm not that much of a fan of hunting and I wouldn't hunt even foxes if they didn't come around the house.
I live in Montenegro... we owe that to our hard working great grandfather. :D
