Some good news. =D>

A deal to attempt to limit the rise in global temperatures to less than 2C has been agreed at the climate change summit in Paris after two weeks of negotiations.

The pact is the first to commit all countries to cut carbon emissions.

The agreement is partly legally binding and partly voluntary. [source]

I knew what was coming (in Cuba's case) when they showed the remaining three countries...

Pirate Bay Founder: ‘I Have Given Up’ [source]

So, we should just let it crash and burn down, pick up the pieces and start over?

Yes, with the focus on the big war on this extreme capitalism. I couldn’t vote, but I was hoping Sarah Palin won last time in the US elections. I’m hoping Donald Trump wins this year’s election. For the reason that it will **** up that country so much faster then if a less bad President wins. Our whole world is just so focused on money, money, money. That’s the biggest problem. That’s why everything **** up. That’s the target we have to fix. We need to make sure that we are going to get a different focus in life.

"We don’t have an open internet. We haven’t had an open internet for a long time."

Hopefully technology will give us robots that will take away all the jobs, which will cause like a massive worldwide unemployment; somewhat like 60 percent. People will be so unhappy. That would be great, because then you can finally see capitalism crashing so hard. There is going to be a lot of fear, lost blood, and lost lives to get to that point, but I think that’s the only positive thing I see, that we are going to have a total system collapse in the future. Hopefully as quick as possible. I would rather be 50 then be like 85 when the system is crashing.

Meh. I don't know why people are against robots. Humanity is literally what is killing this planet anyways. Spending resources on people that bring no skill to the table is a waste.

Humanity with robotic features sucks... Emotionless :P
And we're unaware that we're a controlled mass just like robots. Watch Equilibrium with C. Bale. :P

The download question is a curious one. On the one hand, you can understand why it should be illegal. On the other hand, does that loss of money for millionaires really matter?

Personally, I feel the democratic spread of information and cultural items is way more important than a millionaire becoming a multimillionaire.

Those are good arguments but be honest I think the impersonal nature of the theft makes it way easier to justify. Not going to lie I never buy songs. Just listen to pandora and youtube.

The thing is that still music shops aren't closing down, cinemas aren't closing down, TVs are still being sold, games are still being sold...

Things like song albums, for example, still have niche to sell to: real fans and music lovers. I personally will always watch the major movies I love (Star Wars up next) at the cinema, but I'll watch lesser movies at home. Some who are like me will still buy box sets and blurays of their favourite movies. Torrenting makes all of these available to everyone, hence the democratisation of culture. What used to be the real thing have turned more into collector's items, and I don't think that's a necessarily bad thing.

And this accessibility reflects the rest of society, I think. As we move into a more digitally mobile world, apps are becoming more and more the way we interact with the digital world. How many apps do you see that are more expensive than $5? And compare that to how much old computer programmes cost (although admittedly, many of these can do more than most apps, so perhaps comparing games is fairer). We're looking at a future of accessibility (or should be), and in that world spending dozens of euros just to watch a movie with your family has no place. In Malta, for example, if a family of 5 wants to watch a 3D movie it'd cost them 40 euros, and I believe our cinema prices aren't that high in comparison to other countries. That doesn't include the insane prices for snacks and drinks. No wonder people prefer downloading when they can do the same thing in the comfort of their own home for free, or else simply buy the bluray for cheaper than that and watch it as many times as they want.

I wonder if any of you has a G-Box? I don't know where should I post this... but it's the greatest thing ever... you can watch TV stations for free that you'd usually have to pay for(football streaming channels, etc), like every new movie... and a lot of other stuff. There are a lot of add-ons and everything is for free... 3D and everything else included.

You don't need anything else just to hook a G-Box to a TV and an internet connection and you'll have plenty to watch... I recommend you all to order one if you don't have one already.

I've been considering one for when I'm renovating next summer but I haven't looked much into it. I don't quite know the difference between the different types, for example, or how much of a toll it'd be on my connection (potentially affecting internet speed on other devices).

Not much... and you probably have a better connection than me.

FCBayernMunchen wrote:I don't quite know the difference between the different types

I know a lot of people using it, not many complaints, I think that G-Box is the best... it has almost all the features available from what I know. Adding subtitles and what not...

Maybe I recommended it before, I can't recall anymore... but it's a great thing.
I'm not working for G-Box, just so you know... :P
