Welcome to the US immigration debate ramsej. Prepare for it to never end as politicians create a half-*ssed system that neither achieves one objective nor the other.

Nah I do think it's a huge problem, and there absolutely needs to be a better system for documenting and processing refugees... as we see in Hungary at the moment, having no plan in place causes only headaches and problems. At the same time, it's naive to think that ISIS is only entering Europe via this method. For example, they apparently had propaganda and beheadings on their phone... all of that can be transmitted on the internet anyways. Likewise, there have been a lot of stories in the past year about ISIS recruiting young people in Europe. They could just as easily tell those people to stay in their home countries and cause damage and chaos.

At a Berlin church, Muslim refugees converting to Christianity in droves... most say true belief prompted their embrace of Christianity. But there's no overlooking the fact that the decision will also greatly boost their chances of winning asylum by allowing them to claim they would face persecution if sent home. [source]

Interesting, very interesting... Something what I would add as a one of conditions to make things easier for asylum in my country - convert to Christianity/Catholicism, learn Croatian language, learn about customs and tradition and your chances are very promising. The last thing is up to him/her - become a loyal member of society, exemplary, get employed and that's it! That means - you're not just integrated, but fully assimilated.

Bah... Europe has the highest rates of atheism in the western world. Religion is overrated (no offense intended).

but do you think that they will truly convert? I doubt... There will be who really convert but the majority won't and keep practising underground which is even worse.
I don't agree that they have to Convert, however I agree 100% to the fact that they need to learn the language... customs... culture... etc and renounce the Islamic Law (not religion)
But they can keep practising freely

This people would certainly change that picture. That still doesn't worth for countries where Catholic and Orthodox tradition and majority is represented, i.e. lives, unlike in northern-northern part of Central Europe and North Europe.
Religion maybe has become overrated(for some people), but since it has become underrated(for some people), things in Europe have dramatically changed in the last 60 years. Something what was the main engine of so call western world is abandoned, lately. Even atheism is a religion despite people call it very stupid, but when you hear word believe, everything changes.

When I was thinking about that, In the 2nd half of 20th century and in this one, many people who are members of monotheistic religions are in fact polytheists. Why? It's not that hard to figure out the answer.

Still high temperature from what I've seen though. :? I flew from 16 degrees at Brussels yesterday, quite a difference. Had rain for about 5 or 6 days out of the 15 I spent abroad.
