Disgusting... After all, who would think that Red Army was the only army who did such things in the whole Europe. :?

I don't doubt it happened, and it makes my blood boil, but I seriously question the statistics of all these rape studies. In US universities it's claimed that 1/4 women are sexually assaulted. At my own school they came up with a questionnaire asking females if they'd been sexually assaulted, but they made it voluntary to show up. If 100 women showed up and 10 said something happened, they extrapolated this 10% to the whole school and claimed 0.1x(number of female students) sexual assaults must have happened, therefore they did. So for 10 reported assaults, which who knows if those were even true, administrators claimed way more.

Not saying it doesn't happen, just saying the collection methods have been BS a lot of the times.

And unfortunately yes US soldiers commit sexual assaults every year. I will say there are some right wing nutjobs who believe US walks on water and they are f*cking wrong. But they left-wing crazies who think US is evil and shouldn't stand up for anything are also freaking nuts. But you believe on a base of 20000 people you aren't going to have one sick POS that isn't going to commit this heinous crime? For its faults, for all the criminals that get the choice of the military or prison, the US military is cleaner than general society.

And as someone of Asian descent, sorry but Japan got what they deserved. Japan's emperor should have been hanged as a war criminal as well. As someone of German descent, crap happened to Germany that shouldn't have, and those US soldiers deserved to be hanged, but Germans reap what they sow. Sh*t but that's life.

japan got what they deserved??? 2 but not 1 cowardly attacks on civilians... the atomic bomb...
The worst war crime ever... more than all the other super hyped facts that we all know about.

Dropping a bomb during a war and acts of rape and genocide in my opinion are two different things and im not defending the US either. Stuff like Agent orange in Vietnam was down right disgusting

wasn't a genocide in itself (the Hiroshima & Nagasaki) - they had no balls to invade the island so they went for the atomic bomb... but they went into the history books as heroes ...
There are a lot of hidden truths about wwii there some videos on youtube which are worth watching before they are deleted by the elite powers who rule the world order ... hopefully I do find some time to watch - (one video is 6hrs long)

Not that I have any great love towards the US, but dropping the atomic bomb (both of them) was in my opinion justified. The gap between the bomb drops was ample enough time for Japan to surrender, the USA had warned Japan in advance of a new weapon they had (which Japan put down to war propaganda, understandable in the circumstances). The death toll in both US and Japanese lives would have been far greater if a land invasion had taken place.

I believe the war against Japan had to take such a catastrophic turn to end it just due to the culture of never surrender.

If it wasn't the Americans, then it would have been someone else who would have dropped the bomb.

The atomic bomb is a terrible weapon, but it was coming sooner or later... during WW2 there were multiple sides trying to perfect it. I agree with MatZam - the justification for the bomb is that the war would have stretched on much, much longer if the US invaded Japan, with at least a million casualties (military and civilian) forecasted.

One also has to keep in mind that there was no way of knowing about all the long term consequences.

As long as it continues to grow in that way, we are safer. Might sound stupid, but the no one will be crazy enough to use it.

There must be something that can be done.

Unlike the eventual dialogue with the Taliban in Afghanistan, ISIS are a far more ideological Group and reasoning will not work.

Also, "the West" has a reputation for double crossing, intrigue and downright sabotage, and I can see no reason why any group would want to negotiate with "the West".

the ''west'' is collecting the fruits of their (our) incompetence... although I do believe that IS is the creation of someone from the west or by other power sunni muslims in order to annihilate Iran and syria. Or another possibility could be that the Zionist state wants the Arab world to fight each other in order to leave them in peace.
