I remember it was in a documentary... Fascinating what they knew to make with primitive tools, machines can't produce a better sound than that of the Hypogeum.

I can't remember, I devour documentaries without paying too much attention to the titles... I'm irregular in my habits. But I don't think it was AA...

I'm asking because I saw a documentary about the Hypogeum on Ancient Aliens and was wondering if there was another documentary about it.

My guess is that there is... I would remember if it was a AA series. I give the show 2 mins to impress... and I watched it till the end which means I was impressed. I watch ant documentaries sometimes... I just find it difficult to keep up with names.

I think there's a good chance that our knowledge of pre-history is lacking A LOT. I believe there was a time when humans were very advanced technologically before something happened and progress slowed down considerably (if not even some things were forgotten). This went on till around the 19th/20th centuries when progress suddenly escalated immensely and has now reached astronomical heights at the present time.

How massive ancient structures like the Pyramids and Machu Picchu were built are still a mystery and they can only speculate how they've done it. Seen a couple episodes of Ancient Mega Structures really interesting especially Machu Picchu.

Wow... that is interesting... You know what your country has some similarities with ours but yours is greener. Many Maltese come to visit your country on the way to Medjugorje.

Our very own temples (since the conversation started on Malta) are just as much of a mystery and are older than the Pyramids. One of them is among the top 10 oldest buildings and is the oldest freestanding structure. :)

What's particularly fascinating is the similarities all over the world. Pyramidal structures, for example, are found in many different countries (though many in Europe were imitations of Egypt). The fascination with (and very detailed knowledge of) astronomy is also omnipresent. If we are to accept that travelling was very limited back then, it is remarkable how similar humans used to think.

I forgot what species of animal it was (I think it's some sort of bird) that showed similar knowledge like using tools or doing something despite them living in completely different places and had no chance of communicating. Must have watched this on QI.

Every ancient civilization looked through the skies and stars for answer and it's amazing that a lot of their origin stories and core beliefs have so much similarities. Like many civilizations have sun gods and they just had different names.
