It was always the same it will remain so... Some are claiming that Putin is doing the same as A.Hitler did when he annexed all the German speaking people in Chekoslovakkia, Austria, Poland with Germany (3rd Reich)
I really don't know what to say or who to side with. Some 10-14 yrs ago I was pro-US all out but now it is completely different I almost don't agree with nothing of what they do or say.
The same in Syria, Iraq, Libya, Egypt etc.
Sometimes I detest the West cause I feel it is not run by Europeans or Americans but by another invisible force who I'd rather not mention here...
I believe that the world will soon be run by two major powers: Russia & China

I agree with you on disagreeing with a lot of what the US does. I also think I understand what you mean when you say that you feel the West is not run by Europeans or Americans. I disagree on that, but I do think that it is not run by the majority. The West nowadays has a very distinct political class (including not just politicians but big businessmen as well) that can pretty much do whatever it wants.

It is for this reason that I said that it is good if Russia rises to become a superpower again like it was in the last century. But like you I do not know who to side with or what to say because I also think that Russia is not doing things the right way.

All that said, I still think that the ones doing things the best way are the US and the EU. But I believe there still needs to be a heavy reform in the way things are done and I hope that as Europeans we will lead the way.

On your prediction re Russia and China: China is a great economic power but I feel, from my far from expert knowledge, that it also has a lot of limitations. I am not sure whether it can become as big a force as certain other countries. Russia I can see becoming a major power. But whatever happens, I do not think the US will vanish any time soon.

I can name one. China. For example, they are claiming they own the whole South China Sea just because of it's name. "China" My country has filed so many international protests to UN to no avail. Chinese military ships are threatening fishermen from my country, by hosing them with water cannons or just running over the little boats, when the area they were trying to go is clearly 200 nautical miles from land is clearly part of my country. But no according to China, they own it. [-X

US owes a lot to China too. So yeah, everything is made in China.

I don't know what the point of UN when countries like China and Russia don't respect their "authority."

Now, now, this is totally absurd.

PS : On another note, I'm not sure how many of you know this but the biggest democracy in the world is voting for it's next government. To be done over 40 days on EVMs(Electronic Voting Machines, we've been using them for years and not many countries do).
I just want the current government to lose badly. They've ruled for the country for a total of 60 years after our independence(1947) and still talk of same issues removing poverty and increasing growth. Not sure what they've been doing for 60 years.
The 'black money' from India in Switzerland is the biggest issue. I hope the Swiss give us the lists. There's probably hundreds of billions stashed there. :|

Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has laid down the law to his squad on sex during the 2014 World Cup, allowing "normal" relations, but forbidding anything (in his words) "acrobatic."

The players can have normal sex during the World Cup. Usually normal sex is done in balanced way, but there are certain forms, certain ways and others who do acrobatics. And that, no.

We will put limits and survey the players.

^ Did you read it? The buy was brought in court for questioning and he started crying and had to be given milk to calm him down.

ramsej84 wrote:Yes just saw it on the news. I wish you all that your heart desires. Do you get to vote too?

The voting age is 18 and I am 25. So yes I do. But I am living in Bangalore, almost 5 hour flight from my home town, so I am not going to vote. I know it's bad and all but hey, it's far. :)

And did I tell the drinking age varies from 21-25 over the country. Choose the government when you are 18 and but drink after 21. Weird logic.

Few more :
1. If you try to suicide and you don't die, you're punishable under law for one year jail term or/and fine. I am not sure why no one changes it.
2. 'Intercourse against the laws of nature is a criminal offense'. You read it right. The LGBT community has been fighting to get it changed. Though the law dates back to 1861 and was introduced under British rule, nobody has dared change it yet.

PS : The above incident of the kid being charged is not ours. :)

Any weird laws in your conutry? :curious:
