Philosophy is fascinating, but I can't stand studying it in an established curriculum. I like studying independently a lot more (reading Nicomachean Ethics right now).

I love history. Got loads of books on various things, no set subject. History was my favourite school subject and I got an A in my highers

And while everyone thought that yesterday, January 25, would see all hell break loose in Egypt, it turned out to be today.
After the partial verdict of the Port Said massacre was released, sentencing 21 to death, their families and Port Said people in general began raising hell. Around 30 are dead so far, with 200 injured, and the army is in Port Said to calm things down, the emergency law might return and curfews might return. It may be a blessing that I'm leaving for a week, but I hope my family and friends are safe here.

What's ironic is that I haven't seen a protest in months, I guess I avoid all the hot-spots.

I hear the problem with it is that it's better for a touch screen.

I recently installed it on my PC.

At first, it gives you the look of a Nokia phone with a lot of Apps and stuff.

But, once you get into desktop mode, it is pretty decent. Faster and more reliable than the previous versions. I recommend it.

As BayernLove said, it would be even better with touchscreens, but it's not bad at all with normal ones.

Never trust people's opinions. Usually people format a PC and upgrade to a newer OS version and will find it much faster and acclaim how fast it is.

However, they would be comparing an old installation of an OS to a new one, which is not at all fair. I suggest that you look at the benchmarks (where a clean install of Windows 7 is pitted against a clean install of Windows 8 on the same hardware), and once you do you will find out that in some things Windows 7 is faster and in other things Windows 8 is faster. More or less they are draw. If there is an advantage for Windows 8 performance-wise, it's so small that you wouldn't notice it. Except for booting and shutdown: those are much faster especially booting because rather than start up drivers and other stuff before showing you the login screen, Windows 8 now shows you the login screen while it's still doing stuff in the background.

I saw it the other day and thought the same thing. But then again it's a bit too much on the sporty side for my style.
