I simply can't stop replaying it today. I want this Robben's domination once again.

It's not quite as great a a goal as Maradona's "Goal of the Century" 1986 vs England, but there certainly are similarities.

I remember how I went totally mental after he had scored that, not only because of the way in which he scored it, but obviously also because of the importance to the game.

A few days later he scored his unforgettable volley at Old Trafford. Also an extremely beautiful goal that had as much impact on the game as the one in the DFB-Pokal.

What a great season 2009/10 was!

Better than Maradona's IMO. Maradona started from the half way pitch and Robben started from the corner of the defending area. He ran with the ball for a considerably longer distance.

Sorry, but Maradona's goal is at least two steps above Robben's. Robben's is just pure speed. No player was near him when he started his run, and he only beat one player with and close skill that didn't involve his speed.

Maradona's goal has got everything. He basically beat individually half the England team by sure skill, not just by hitting the ball and chasing it.

Speaking of great individual efforts during World Cups, I'm sure everybody knows this one, but you can't watch it enough imo.

Guenter Netzer scored this Beauty in 1973 and it was picked as goal of the year in Germany (That year of course)

Question is : why dont they play Free kicks that way anymore?? instead of passing then a second player stopping it then shooting

I think it was because it's hard for the ref to determine whether or not the player takes two touches. Also because it's a sweep touch, like in field hockey where you have to hit the ball rather than push or sweep it. I think a rule was introduced to stop this.

If it's not a rule change then it'll be because as soon as the ball leaves the ground like that, it's a lot harder for the shooter to control.

Robben is very happy now and these actions are the same as Ribery's as well. Real troll, that's what we want.

Probably the best goal of my life.
It's 1-0 in the 4th minute of injury time, Egypt needs to beat Algeria, who were parking the bus all game, 2-0 to force a play-off. Then, just as the dream was about to die, Meteb, whose been injured for many months, connects with the ball to the joy of the millions of Egyptians following the game.
