Cars

Postby AvatarX » Mon Sep 10, 2012 2:01 pm

I realized that we don't have any thread about cars, and I decided to open one.

So,
What car do you own? Are you happy with it? How about its speed/acceleration/fuel consumption/behavior?
What car would you like to buy someday (valid wishes - ferrari's not acceptable :P) and why? (speed?/comfort?/economy?)

Also if you have interesting news about cars, here's the place to post them :)

I'll start with the video of the Audi A1 testdrive by Lahm and Schweini :

Personally I have a VW Polo Mark V (2009-present), 1.4, 85ps (petrol).

I am pretty satisfied with its speed (max speed I tried was 170km/h and it was really smooth on the road), it's fuel consumption (around 5l/100km ~ 47mpg mixed consumption, 7.1l/100km in the roads of the city during peak hours) and it's behavior on the road.

It looks like the following:

Probably when I change it I will buy a new Golf, diesel or with low consumption (Blue Motion probably, 1.2 - 105PS ) or an Audi A3 if it gets prettier and a bit cheaper :)

I have a Volkswagen Golf Mk4 TDI 110 bhp. Not too happy with it as it gives its fair share of electric problems.

My dream car is an old Trans Am.

I dont officially Own it , but it is the house car (the 2nd car of our family and it is mostly with me)

It is a Hyundai Tucson 2008 2000cc/ v4

Colour:Silver

I reached 170 Km/H once , and i think it could have gone beyond that

My Dream Car is Hyundai Tuscani (aka Hyundai Coupe)

Looks Awesome , a sports car , not too expensive and also not too Benzene-Consuming compared to other sports cars

and it is Easy to Find its parts and also if it needs maintenance

Orange would be perfect

I currently own KIA Optima (late 2010-present) 2.4 MPI engine, max power 180ps. Pretty moden look. All different kinds of features from the inside (navigation panel, rear camera, sensors, bluetooth, USB, Iphone input, ECO button, and my personal favorite the pedal shifts). Fuel consumption is not a factor of importance for me since I reside in fuel land (Jeddah, SA) :P. It is pretty smooth on the highway and gives you the feel of a stronger and bigger car. Max speed I reached with it was 180km/hr, but since we are surrounded by 1000s of radar cameras, I'll always have to stay by the 120km/hr limit. The color is white and looks exactly like this:

Image

Needless to say, KIA have gone to a whole new level with this car.

Previously, before moving out of Lebanon, I owned this beast of a car:

Image

Now that was a ride! 3.5L V6 max speed 250ps, and a real f!ck you when it comes to fuel consumption :P

EDIT: The car on my wishlist is the Range Rover EVOQUE, but that bitch is expensive!

The second car that's mostly with me and it's ideal for the Downtown in Egypt where driving is like a quarrel between thugs  is Hyundai Excel 96 , on the road it's like -10 Safety #-o

MY Father has A Mercedes E200 2004 , but it is more like a limited edition (looks a bit different than other E200 especially from the back)

i only drove it 3 times , and i accidentally reached 150 with it (other than it easily accelerates , the maximum speed is 260 compared to 220 on hyundai , so the 150 is in the place of 130 or something like this)

At least I remain Bavarian in this aspect. I have never owned anything else from Bayerischen Motoren Werke. My current one is a E39 530i sedan, from the end of its production (June 2003) auto transmission, black, leather, after facelift.

This is my dream car tbh :

Image

I'd love to own this one day and tune it on my own starting right from the stock STi model.
The reason why I love this is because before moving back to my hometown, I used to live in a mountain-ish area where I used to see many of these cars (as a kid) and so I fell in love with their appearance, not to mention their monstrous engine sound and their swiftness on ground. :D

New car every 2.5 years? Nice :)

Ford Focus 1.0, 125bhp is a great option. Low fuel consumption with great performance. Personally I don't like Ford (more of an Audi/VW fan), but this engine is top in terms of performance/low consumption.
But if fuel and money is not a problem, may I propose a 2.0L, 200 hp, TSI VW Golf GTI :
