Postby prasun77 » Sun May 11, 2014 4:41 pm

Guys there are books on Barcelona,ManU,Real,Liverpool etc. books about their past present and future are all available...but its hard to find books about FC Bayern even biographies of the famous Bayern players like Beckenbauer,Kahn,Lahm are hard to find in English!

So if you are aware of any books about Bayern history or biographies in English do post here......

FC Bayern, Stern des Südens, du wirst niemals untergehn...

Mehmet Scholl once offered a mixtape CD to Oliver Kahn. Kahn replied: Do you want me to shoot myself? Keep your crap to yourself.

Read the 2 chapters and until my terrible habit of reading the end bothers me too much. Interview with Hojbjerg leaves me baffled at his impatience this season. He learned so much from Guardiola but he's complaining too much he's not playing.

Rafinha's bits on the book adds my growing respect for him. He may not be the best player but every team needs that team player, ready to go where the coach needs him. He said in the Pokal final, "we'll go out and die on the pitch."

We know Robben had recovered from his slump even in the treble year but he was a man reborn under Guardiola isn't he? He said it reminds him of the traditional Dutch game.

Great read so far.

EDIT: on 11th chapter, everytime Kroos is mentioned makes me chuckle. Pep really liked him.

Eduardo Galeano, author of Soccer in the Sun and Shadows recently died. It was an entertaining book, almost a history of football but more like an even more eloquent and poetic Ray Hudson ramble. This was how he described Der Bomber in the book:

Nobody saw a wild wolf on the field. Disguised as an old woman, his fangs and claws hidden, he strolled along, making a show of showering innocent passes and other works of charity. Meanwhile he slipped unnoticed into the box. The net was bridal veil of an irresistible girl. In front of the open goal he licked his chops. And in one fell swoop he stood naked, then bit.
