Philipp Lahm

Postby aldaniela » Fri Sep 07, 2007 1:08 am

I have just read this : "Germany defender Philipp Lahm will miss Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Wales in Cardiff after suffering a knee injury in training on Thursday".
This is too bad. No more injures please :S

I don't think Karlsruhe will couse us any troubles because they just came from Bundesliga 2, we need him for our upcoming game against Schalke which is more important, and difficult.
If I'm not wrong this must be his first injury ever, he is always on the pitch playing for Bayern and Germany, he deserves to rest for some time.

According to fcbayern official website Lahm could resume squad training in early October if his recovery goes according to plan!!!

Philipp Lahm (stretched knee ligaments) should also be fit again at about the same time after missing out since sustaining the injury in early September. “I’m guessing he’ll be able to play again in two to three weeks,” Hitzfeld said.

Bayern's impressive 3-0 victory over Fiorentina on Tuesday came at a cost, as Philipp Lahm suffered what could prove to be a significant injury.

The Germany defender did not make it out for the second 45 minutes after having taken a knock to his right calf just before the half-time whistle.

"It was very painful for him," Jürgen Klinsmann told the club's official website. "We hope that it doesn't turn out to be something serious."

Lahm will undergo a thorough examination by Bayern's chief medic Müller-Wohlfahrt later on Wednesday.

On a more positive note, Lahm was replaced at the half by Christian Lell, who was making his comeback almost a month after tearing a thigh muscle. He only just started training with the team again last Thursday.

Fu*k, just two fit Wingbacks. Maybe Breno should play in there.

I seem to remember Schweini doing well at left back in his early Bayern days as well, though at this point that would leave a hole in our midfield that I'm not positive could be filled. I like Oddo and I'm glad he's here, but for this reason we should've kept Jansen as well! (Since Willy is nowhere to be found.) Too bad my buddy in my avatar is retired!

Now the "mistake" buying Oddo - RB - to replace Jansen can come back to haunt us.
Let's hope it doesnt and the guy that gets to play there does the job as good as Lahm does , but knowing that Lell will probably be playing
there isnt exactly a cause for optimism. :?

Germany star Lahm could also return against the Royal Blues after a two-and-a-half week lay-off. "Philipp is back in training. We'll wait and see how he feels on Saturday, and then we'll decide whether to take him with us to Schalke," Klinsmann said. Lahm, who resumed the squad programme on Friday, injured a foot in the 3-0 Champions League home win over Fiorentina.
