Neuer has a small knee injury and he won't play against Australia as they don't want to take any risks. [source]

The "knee injury" can persist until Sunday for all I care. Zieler can handle Georgia. A training/vacation with the DFB team might be exactly what he needs.

TBH I don't care about the German NT ... I am worried that he might not be at his best for us... FCB now when it matters most...
[-o< Hope that he will be OK for real and doesn't need any intervention ... God forbids.

I don't think he would. That Zieler played the entire 90 minutes against Spain was unexpected and a sign that he'll be No 2.

Either way it won't happen unless against all odds the "knee injury" is real. But I doubt it. Since when does a brusitis heal within two days?

Very strange indeed considering he was playing on Sunday and skiing the weekend before. That basically means it's a fresh injury so two days healing-time seams rather short.

Well, I hope he get's to recuperate, we need him fully fit in the following weeks!

Neuer was the last one to join the NT yesterday, he arrived at the team hotel late afternoon. It was said that he stayed first in Munich for some regeneration treatment. So maybe there's some truth behind it. And Sammer mentioned "small aches and pains" earlier.

If there is truth behind it, he should be out for both games.

It's just strange that each time a friendly is ahead, Neuer has minor knee injuries that are over before the next competitive game. Before the game tomorrow it was Spain and that wasn't the first time either. IMO most likely it is part of the plan that the friendlies are for the backups to get game time, unless it is a test game right before a major tournament. The "injury" stories are just not to make the opponent feel disrespected (well, not so much with Australia but perhaps with Spain), and most of all because they don't want to tell the ticket holders flat out that the game is not important enough to play the best team.

Yeah, you're probably right. If it was really serious, he'd stayed in Munich. He has done some individual training with the fitness coach, though.

Of course, now the 'haters' are saying it's because he was traumatized by Gladbach.

Who says that? Where? :D

Well, something's not quite right with him when it comes to Gladbach. Either he's a repressed Gladbach fan, or he's suffering from foal phobia, or something. :)
