Ancelotti , " Giovanni Mauri is not to blame for Manu's inj, he is not responsible for the keepers' training and for me he is the best fitness coach in the world"

So is he giving the blame to the gk's coach?

Here we go... "at the earliest" now.

Expect Manu to come back in late February.

Depending on how things go -- if he's behind schedule or if we're perhaps eliminated from UCL/Pokal and have BL wrapped up (or well out of the title race  ) then they may as well consider just shutting him down for the year. By the time January (February?) comes around, we should have a good picture of how the season is going and if we need to make a push to get him back soon or not.

Meh I don't know. I have reduced confidence he'd be able to play both legs of a potential Champions League round of 16. The first legs of the round of 16 will be played from the 13th to the 21st of February 2018. The second legs are to be played from 6th to 14th March.

Yup... My timing is never THAT bad

Also, I still feel pretty secure with most of my posts... The one thing I was really wrong about was last years champion... And at least I feel like it was more in Leipzig than on Ancelotti and Bayern...

Metal plate no concern for injured Neuer [source]

Manuel Neuer's latest foot injury at Bayern led him to recall a previous setback while at Schalke and a fix that remains to this day.

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been playing with a metal plate in his right foot since 2008.
Neuer had an operation to repair a hairline metatarsal fracture in his left-foot last week.
The injury was a repeat of the one that sidelined him during the closing weeks of last season and he is expected to remain out until early 2018.
Nevertheless, the 31-year-old is not daunted by the setback, having suffered a similar injury to the other foot during his time with Schalke.
To this day, he still carries around a reminder of that surgery, which he views in somewhat pragmatic terms.

"I had the same injury while at Schalke in 2008," Neuer told Sport Bild. "Back then, a metal plate was inserted which is still in.
"I've never had a problem and feel comfortable with it.
"I'm all for leaving everything in during my career in order to avoid unnecessary absences."
Bayern face Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League on Wednesday and have added Tom Starke to their squad as cover, despite the veteran goalkeeper having retired at the end of last season to join the club's youth academy in a coaching role.

Notwithstanding how much Bayern may miss him in goal, he must not under any circumstance be rushed back into the first team until and unless he has fully recovered. I am willing to sacrifice one season for the long term wellbeing of Neuer and the club in general. Also, Die Mannschaft would need him too. Let the lessons be learned and let things take their time.

Hopefully, Bayern board should be working in signing a decent GK in the coming transfer period. Imagine right now a third división caliber goalkeeper (Ulreich) is defending our goal. #-o

As I had expected. Neuer will not be back until late March around the time of a potential CL QF. Fractures are terrible and those who had expected a January return were either lying or are foolish.

I’m okay with this, let him take all the time in the world. What matters is that he comes back 100% fit. If Sven continues his howlers Bayern should start playing Frutchl until Neuer is out.

this is very worrying and sad.
I am afraid that Ulreich +Früchtl + Starke together don't make a Neuer

I don't want ter Stegen to be No 1 at the World Cup.
